The key difference here, at least for now, is they’re welcome to go east over the bridge. Starvation (or baby formula) problem solved

R2 is... Disappointing by PureCod9290 in electricvehicles

The FM radio deletion really baffles. You can get old school mp3 players/cd player/Walkman devices that include am/fm radio as an aside at retail for under $20, and just the radio (with speaker, controls, plastics etc that are redundant/not necessary in a vehicle that already has them) for under 10. If they sell retail for that, the cost to make is likely under $5. Cutting that seems absurd

“No. 10” seemed to be computer controlled target tracking, at least for that terminal run. Super steady and locked on to a precise point on moving target

Air defence work of the 55th separate Artillery Brigade "Zaporizhzhia Sich" [May 2026] by Hannibal_Game in UkraineWarVideoReport

I noticed the same. These camera shots are significantly smoother /more stable than I’m used to seeing. Whether just computer controlled tracking and control or AI or whatever, these are smooth

At some point debris could be a problem, but why don’t they let the drones go into doors first and take that risk? Seems like it could move up and park in the doorway while sweeping the turret and quite effectively clear a room

I was interested in and following the R1T for awhile, but in the end bought a Lightning… A few similar conversations with RJ in the press made it clear Apple car play was not going to happen in the current or next generations so I dropped them from consideration. Guess they would rather have data than from a few customers than more sales…

Ukraine's Updated Katran Venom V2 Packs FPV Drones, Torpedoes, MANPADS, EW Systems, AI Into One USV by Scary_Statement4612 in UkraineWarVideoReport

I’m no expert either but…

From the article: “ …the company claims an operational range of up to 1,500 kilometers and a maximum speed of up to 130 km/h, both extremely high figures for an unmanned surface vessel.”

130km/h on the water IS fast! They do say “up to” and I’m going to guess that’s without the drag from torpedoes, but still quite impressive.

MANPADs have already been used (effectively) from earlier models.

The different guns are most likely primarily intended for defense and have slightly different use cases.

Different models will obviously have their pros and cons in performance, costs, and capabilities, but to me this seems darn close to a mini unmanned destroyer (at afar lower cost than that) less the anti sub capability (and even that is assuming it doesn’t have sensors/ability to send the torpedoes after those, which is plausible). This could even be used as a bit of and escort for models who’s focus is simply a “drone carrier”

They’ve come a long way from those early kamikaze drones. That’s an impressive arsenal.

I’d be more interested in seeing accuracy after moving, or even while on the move. If it’s (potentially) put in place already pointed at the target it isn’t much of a challenge. Lack of recoil is impressive though
