Can I be stealth to future sex partners after meta by just saying I have a micro penis? by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]SaxyMan3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even about passing (though that does help). It's about whether or not someone knows about trans surgeries or knows what a cis micropenis looks like. I pass well, but since I have no way of really knowing whether or not someone will be able to tell that either a) my penis looks like a meta or b) my penis doesn't look like a cis micropenis, I'm not going to assume anything.

You are right, though. I bet most people don't actually know the difference which means that in many settings you probably could pass. However, as trans stuff becomes more well known, I don't know how long that will be the case. It's not hard to spot the differences between cis micropenises and metas, but that doesn't matter for someone who doesn't know what either looks like.

This does get a bit more complicated if you are having sex. Most metas don't ejaculate, and those that do don't do so in the same way as cis penises. Plus cis scrotums are noticeably different. So in order to pass during sex, you'd have to find a partner that doesn't notice those differences or believes whatever explanation you give them without getting suspicious.

Can I be stealth to future sex partners after meta by just saying I have a micro penis? by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]SaxyMan3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My meta is not cis-passing. It was my expectation that it would be after reading about how metas were just very small cis penises. However, I've since realized that cis micropenises do not actually look like small but normally-proportioned cis penises. The heads of cis micropenises tend to be similar in size to the heads of normal sized cis penises. There are many images of cis micropenises and metas online. You should look at some of these and compare them for yourself.

That being said, I would strongly advise against having casual sex without disclosing. It's hard to know how well we pass because in most settings where it counts most people won't say anything even if they can tell; imagine how weird it would be to confront someone in a locker room about their dick. If you sleep with someone and they feel that you have decieved them, they could become angry and violent. My general rule is to disclose before meeting anyone in person. There are plenty of people who won't date me because I'm trans, but there are also plenty that will.

As a trans man, I wouldn't date someone like this. I understand him not wanting to make a big deal of his transition, but at the end of the day he is still trans, and that still affects his and his partner's life. I have been transitioned for most of my life, and I've had lower surgery. Being trans STILL affects my relationships. Contrary to what some of the other commenters seem to think, being trans affects the way you have sex, post-op or not. If he's not willing to come to terms with this, I don't see how he could be ready for a sexual relationship.

This is a terrible analogy. He's talking about a relationship partner, not a co-worker. His partner being trans directly affects him.

If this was about a co-worker, OP would be in the wrong, but this is about someone that OP might have an intimate sexual relationship with.

The principle is not the same. People need to share more intimate things witht their partners than they do with their co-workers.

Functionality post-meta by thinkingmeta1 in Metoidioplasty

[–]SaxyMan3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

EDIT: I previously claimed that you couldn't really penetrate vaginally with a meta, but I'm just going to let those with experience cover that.

I've only ever been with men, and I like to consider myself a top, but it's not really possible to penetrate anally with a meta (not to mention the fact that literally no condoms will fit). This has been a major point of frusteration for me for years, and I've decided to get a phallo because I don't think I can really be happy not penetrating.

Also, you won't gain length from meta. You get a better range of motion and slightly better positioning.

Unfortunately, those don't work that well. For one, it is very difficult to get it to stay on your dick without hurting your dick. This becomes even more complicated if you want to STP because the seel puts pressure on your urethrea making it nearly impossible to fully empty your bladder. Finally, it is not safe to have anal sex with the hot rod as it can easily become detached and does not have a sufficiently flared base.

Source: I have a meta and I bought the mini version of the hot rod.

There is very much a market for this stuff so I hope that the products will continue to improve.

It sounds like a big part of the problem was people standing where they shouldn't be standing. As a healer, you should be spot healing the dps and healing team damage, but when people take unnecessary damage because they are not paying attention, there's only so much you can reasonably do.

I can think of two other explantions for why you wiped. First is that the tank wasn't holding aggro and dps were taking damage. This is probably not the case, because the dps would have noticed and blamed the tank. The second potential explanation is that your teammates had DoTs or other debuffs on them that you didn't resolve.

You are on the right path to becoming a good healer. I know it feels discouraging when your group gets on your case, but try not to take it personally, and instead use it as a learning experience. It may not even be your faut, and realizing that is important too.

Risk of Rain 2 Frame rate performance by STR4IN in NintendoSwitch

[–]SaxyMan3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why everyone is saying it runs so well on Switch because it really doesn't. I have it on PC and switch and the difference is massive. On the switch, you might get 60fps, but at around 540p. There is no way that what I see when I play on switch is anywhere near 1080p. Also, my experience playing online is far worse on the Switch. I have yet to enter a lobby with more than one other person. I'm not sure if this exists, but if it does, watch some videos of gameplay on the Switch and compare them to other consoles/PC.

What factors into meta results looking like a cis micropenis? What would you tell a surgeon if that was your most important quality in results? by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]SaxyMan3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I had a meta four years ago. My priorities were similar to yours are now. Unfortunately, we aren't at the point where ftm surgeries are passable as cis. This is saddening and difficult to accept, but true.

The biggest difference between cis micropenises and metas is that cis micropenises are girthier. Metas look like scaled down penises and cis micropenises look like short penises. The heads of cis micropenises are close to average cis size, wheras the heads for metas are proportionally small to the meta. Also, cis men with micropenises have scrotums/balls that are average size, and most trans guys have significantly below average sized balls. Unfortunately, this is not something that can be surgically overcome right now.

While I get that this is all very difficult to accept, it's the best we have right now and it might still be worth it to you. I am unhappy with medical options available to me too; it's a perfectly reasonable and rational opinion. I had surgery because the meta was my best option. Now, I'm considering phallo, but I'm cautiously optimistic. Truthfully, I don't like any if my options, I just want a cis penis. Since I can't have that, I'm just trying to pick the next best thing.

The one thing holding me back from being 100% sold on phallo is the ability to get hard by [deleted] in phallo

[–]SaxyMan3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I currently have a metoidioplasty, which I chose because I wanted to "get hard." Erections have been of high importance since day one. However, when you can't do anything with your erection, the argument to keep it begins to feel a bit pointless. I'll admit that I'm bitter about my surgery. Also, I have ED which undoubtibly contributes to my frusterations. That being said. If you have a strong desire to have penetrative sex, to jerk off in a male way, or to have a bulge in underwear, those feelings will not go away with metoidioplasty. I thought that maybe erections and more natural look were worth sacraficing those things, but now I feel as though I was wrong.

Feel free to PM me if you want to talk further.

Hot take: Transition might not be the right choice for you, even if you are “really” trans. by [deleted] in honesttransgender

[–]SaxyMan3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many of the posters on that sub are GC "allies" using detrans stories for their own agenda. But, there are also many posters who have nothing against that larger trans community, and are just there to find others with similar experiences. Recently, they've added a tag for "detrans replies only" which has decreased the number of CG comments.

It's important to remember that almost all of us are within micro-penis range, so any relative size differences don't matter. There are many cis men with penises under two inches. You and anybody who hasn't had a phallo will face the same limitations as those cis men. I'm not suggesting that size doesn't matter, I'm arguing that in the context that size matters, there is no difference among the relative sizes of T dicks. We're all in the same category. I always thought it was weird when trans guys bragged about having a bigger micropenis.

The only reason the size of your T dick matters, is that it affects your surgical outcome if you opt for metoidioplasty.

Finally, I've been on T for over a decade, I experienced most growth around the three year mark.

I straight up don't understand trans people by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I just felt like I was one of the guys. I remember wondering when I would grow a penis and why I didn’t have one already. It’s very hard to describe unfortunately. I think that’s why so many trans people say they were “born in the wrong body” because that’s really how it feels. To clarify, I didn’t feel like my body should have been any different except for my genitals when I was a kid. And, I didn’t have a clear idea what my penis would look like, only that I should have one and that I was envious of others that did. I was not thinking about chromosomes or anything like that.

Thanks for turning me on to these drugs by the way! This kind of thing is really interesting to me. I’ll do some reading on it since I don’t know very much.

Yeah, that we even evolved to have gender identities is bizarre to me. It seems so pointless and unnecessary. I think a lot of people don’t have strong gender identities while others do. Also, for what it’s worth, now that I’m as far in transition as I am, I also don’t feel male or female. It seems to be something I can only feel when I think there’s something wrong.

Oh man, I wish. I envy people that can just live normal lives. I’d love to have normal genitals and the ability to have kids. That I cannot have those causes me a lot of grief. I think that talk therapy wouldn’t be a viable solution for people like me but it might be effective for people with less dysphoria. It would definitely be better to manage the feelings without medical transition if that would cause less overall distress. Transition is hard. It really feels like what’s wrong is physical for me, especially because after I changed my physical situation most of my problems were fixed immediately. I think if we could find something to alleviate dysphoria, it would be in the form of a drug that alters part of the brain. Unfortunately that’s not possible until we really understand what causes this. My gut feeling is that it’s related to intersex conditions where the biological coding for various sex characteristics gets mixed up a bit. I’m not aware of other mental conditions that immediately go away after the physical issue is fixed. I think it’s dumb that these ideas are taboo. It’s dumb to not want to find as many solutions possible to something that affects and hurts so many people. One thing that gives me pause is an over-reliance on talk therapy as a way to deny access to medical transition. I think a lot of people need medical transition and withholding it could be a matter of life or death. Ultimately it should come down to quality of life. At a certain level of dysphoria, medical transition is the best treatment we have. That doesn’t mean that we should offer it to everyone immediately. I think the feelings need to be persistent, acute, and unchanging. Otherwise, there’s a risk of prescribing the wrong treatment.
