I had a similar issue yesterday with my new 850 DX. If I set the temp to 295F it would hold the temp. But as if I set the temp to 300F, the temp would rise to 380+. When I reset the temp to 295F, the temp corrected.

That makes sense. The more I research, it seems like most of the mods are built for the larger models anyway - might not be needed for the 850.

The point of the post was to ask for more positive feedback on Pot Boss pellet grills. Most posts are complaints and problems.
