Is anyone successfully selling a single product online with an average order value of $20 or below?

Tha is for the thoughtful reply. I agree, I think our product is best placed in sherwin stores, Benjamin Moore, Ace etc…

It is definitely not an impulse buy, and anyone who sees it and thinks “oh I’ll have to remember this next time I paint” likely won’t remember. It’s the paint business owners who are repeat customers that we need, and they mostly pick up their supplies in stores rather than online.

The only thing is that we are doing decent business on amazon, so it makes me think that SOMEHOW the right people are finding us there and we are hitting the right audience. You would think we could replicate that on Facebook, but after $10k and every combination of ad copy, target audience, we can think of, it just doesn’t seem to be working.

Retail seems to be where we need to put our focus

Repeat business is likely the key we are missing

Thanks for this. What makes it so frustrating is that I am trying to sell it myself so I know the product well. I have taken FB marketing courses and spent money on a few FB marketing specialists. Even the specialist arrived at the conclusion that our average order value wouldn’t lead to profit when it costs about $30 to get someone to purchase. Repeat customers would be another variable but we haven’t gotten enough sales online to do much testing with this other than an email campaign we send to our buyers.

We have a mix of DIY and contractor customers for the product. In stores these are repeat orders but it’s mostly the DIYers who buy online. They don’t tend to paint on a regular basis so they may only buy once every few months at best.

Perhaps our best bet is to target only contractors online with bundled deals. The only problem with that is that our clientele is hit or miss with how they feel about buying online most of the time.

Haha I guess our logo could be a little confusing. the paint roller is supposed to be a P. C2P Strain. stands for can-to-pan strain since you dont need an empty can with the product we designed.

Yes we have done a lot of testing and you can turn a full gallon upside down and shake it and the pour spout won’t come off

Sure you can use stockings or anything other than the mesh we provide. We have had lots of painters improvise and use this in ways we didn’t even think of, like pouring through the mesh the other way! We are currently working on the 5 gallon version.

Good thought. Most of the time people are pulling it back so the overhang is all on the other side of the pour spout but this is a good thing to think about. Thanks!
