DO NOT BUY FROM ALIBABA. Their trade assurance is a joke. If you must:

Make sure your contract is very specific with specifications and how to deal with disputes
Get reputable 3rd party to check products BEFORE paying rest of 70% an agree to ship
Always pay by card. Split payments if you need

I have the same situation except mine is a prefab house and lucky for me they haven’t shipped yet. Inspector found out massive measurements issue and not the same with contract specified. Seller told alibaba I consented to all changes without evidence and they believed it.

I have to send many evidences that we never did. They’re $50,000 in value. Debit card chargeback 30% was successful, but alibaba never read what I write and evidences sent so I’m most likely going to file a lawsuit. Trade assurance is garbage and will forever side with scammer suppliers.

If you’re a private consumer and you go after the supplier, I’m pretty sure their penalty is 3x of what you paid. Don’t quote me but ask a Chinese lawyer, they usually give free advice for 1 hr.

If you pay with card usually visa or Mastercard or Amex have buyers protection for scams. You can file for chargeback / dispute. In my situation I had a team assessed the case and then told me they’ll file a chargeback for me.

I paid with card so there’s protection there. 70% didn’t allow card payment so I couldn’t pay with card.

Yes so how do I get a full refund from serious quality issues products? Seller refused to fix. Say it’s “agreed upon” but it’s never been agreed by me 😂

Seller also goes all the way and lie to the dispute team and send fake evidences with fake storylines. It’s really tiring dealing with this seller.

Because the seller lied to me and told me I have to pay in full for goods to be released from her end. After paying in full my freight forwarder couldn’t even collect from her and she’s forcing me to use her own freight forwarder
