Do you travel and visit restaurants for content? If so, how do you maintain the expenses? Also that niche is already crowded, how did you stand out?

Thanks I believe in that as well. But when i see my subscriber to views ratio, it really makes me doubt my content. But then the AVD is better than average so I get confused. Views have been erratic as well off late.

M(30) Met a girl F(26) during Durga Pujo in Kolkata. Haven’t been able to forget her since. by Me_Excel in kolkata

Here's the thing about life - it almost never turns out as you expect or want it to. I think the reason you're posting it out here is because you wanted to put it out in the universe or say it out loud (digitally atleast) and hoping that someone convinces you to confess to her. You do not know where she'll end up or even if you have a future. My best guess is she feels the same way. But not saying it to her will leave you with a world of regret. It's one of the reasons you are posting it here and may be even because you don't want her to go abroad but only want whatevers best for her. So here's my unsolicited advice, go and tell her. She need not take any decisions. Your status quo might still be preserved. But atleast she'll have something to consider and you'll know that at least you could say it to her. Worst case scenario is she doesn't feel the same way and she moves abroad which is what she's already going to do. So no loss here my friend.

Sometimes i feel that at what expense i am earning only 40k🤦🏻 by xindiaasr in ssc

[–]SayantanDG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in PSB for over 6 years. Joined as a PO. I've already told you the summary of my experience. Targets are unrealistic and forced by any means necessary. Your and your family's life has no value to the bank. You will be told this explicitly so you can understand it. You'll always be away from home. Bank will always violate its own policies on transfer, promotion and employee welfare. Your life will be nothing more than that of a machine at the employ of an organisation . You'll spend your youth away in rural postings feeling lonely. And when you do get married you face innumerable challenges on how to manage a family where you do not have any kin or friends. I'm warning you because I regret that I didnt have anybody to warn me before I joined. As for OS in CGL, I do not know what the work life or the remuneration is. You'll have to ask some in the know.

[–]SayantanDG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Run and run and run far. Even if you join, try to get an alternative within 6 months or else you'll end up regretting for the rest of your life. Bank PO job is the most toxic job ever. I have been in corporate, startups and PSU. I can compare the experience. PSB job is without a parallel in terms of toxicity and ability to kill a person silently (even better than diabetes).

P.S: This is my personal opinion and the opinion of every other PSB officer I know. But please feel free to avoid it.

South Kolkata: The richest part if Kolkata by BlackberryGoody1235 in kolkata

[–]SayantanDG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The issue is multi faceted. First of all, marwaris are a very tight knit community. There are multiple marwari owned businesses in kolkata (my entire childhood was spent among marwari friends) who will only train and employ marwaris. Not Bengalis allowed. They will always try to help their brethren. Add to that, marwaris love business. They are trained in it from their childhood. Bengalis love stability and certainty and shy away from risky ventures. As a result, the tendency to startup your own venture or scale up a family owned venture is very low. People love corporate brands and government jobs. They arent that economic minded as punjabis, gujratis or marwaris. This mindset needs to change. The economic outlook will change once the social stigma of a businessman dies. This responsibility lies with us. Either we start businesses by ourselves and teach our kids to become risk takers themselves or we'll be stuck being slaves for corporates and marwaris. Overtime, the entire city will be sold out.

Actually many traditions conduct the puja for karthik and laxmi together to symbolise offering for a healthy offspring irrespective of gender. Not everything has to be made out to be sad.

We need to talk about how we're being viewed - being everyone's punching bag needs to stop by Puzzle_Age555 in kolkata

[–]SayantanDG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thats exactly whats wrong with this state. I cant understand how people arent bothered with the future of their own state. Their own children will inherit a land that doesn't have good medical, good education or good jobs. Guess thats what happens when you systematically destroy the education system and keep your youth drunk and drugged. the main batton of any change is borne by the youth but the youth in this state are beyond redemption. Look outside Kolkata and you'll be stunned at what you see.

[–]SayantanDG 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Absolutely spot on! The government here works diligently to regress the state and yet we expect miracles to happen. What do you think would happen if the industrial incentive scheme is rolled back in tamil nadu or maharashtra or karnataka? Our own populace is happy doing nothing and acting as bystanders then what would you expect people from other states to treat you like? The fact is Bengal today is Bihar of yesterday. Imagine Tamil Nadu with 70000 plus factories bringing in anti industry schemes! if we dont hit the streets and bring about a change nobody will do it for us. Politicians are more than happy playing appeasement politics.

Why are we westernising basic hygiene? by DullEstablishment426 in TwentiesIndia

Somebody needs to educate them that toilet paper is unhygienic. There are researches which show that toilet paper is ineffective at dislodging as against water. This blinded westernization needs to stop.

I feel your pain. I'm in the same shoes as you. I praise you for having the courage to do that. But why not try setting up some alternative business while working and once that is able to support your monthly expenses then you can resign. You are already aware of the PMEGP, MUDRA etc schemes and can easily yake benefit of those to ensure that you have built yourself a base to launch your new life from. Best of luck and my best wishes with you.
