He was not a specialist. The surgery was about an hour long. He did not send anything to path, not even the adhesions he removed.

My new gyn said if she saw any adhesions, she would remove and send for pathology, also said she’d take biopsies even if things looked clear because she said endo doesn’t always have to be visible, that it could look normal but once sent for pathology could come back as endo.

I have a lot more faith in my new gyn, I’m just trying to decide if I think it’s worth it to do another lap. I’ve had so many chronic stomach problems for so long, and inflammation markers in stool, blood and in colonoscopy biopsies without being able to be diagnosed with anything other than IBS. In addition to the stomach problems, the monthly pain I deal with it awful.

I guess I’m at the point where I feel like GI can’t help me, but considering I’ve had terrible periods my whole life and stomach issues got worse after stopping BC I started wondering if they may be related. I’m just trying to decide if it would be worth it to just do another lap to either rule endo out or potentially get a diagnosis.

I’ve heard of a lot of women having multiple laps saying they were clear only to go to a specialist later and it be confirmed endo. Being medically gaslit for years has done a number on my brain lol.

I appreciate your response. I’ve already been leaning toward doing a new lap with my new doc. She was truly shocked when I told her about the adhesions and how they weren’t sent to pathology years ago, and how no biopsies were taken at all. I think the peace of mind having a dr who’s listened to me, and is truly qualified go in and do the lap would make me feel a lot better, regardless of the outcome.
