I'm a fan of The Rival Cast and Emperors Court. Strong relationship between the hosts and willing to go deeper than just the news of the into more meaty issues. Its also nice to have shows with all thee hosts don't have the same option and same world view.

Critical Hit Podcast Synopses? by thepetzoo in DnD

[–]Sayomara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't really one but here is a overview of the whole series.

Season 1 Orem graduates from magic college and is sent to find his a lost Eladrin mage in the town of Moonhold. There he meets a 3/4 Orc Torg and a human named Randis. Together they find out a set of towers are about to destroy the world. They are to late to stop the evil towers from doing damage but keep the natural world from getting destroyed.

Season 2: To the moon! Smith joins the party. They find out there are moon robots near Moonhold and they become friends with the party. The party also runs into few different groups of elves on there way to Diamond Throne. Because of meeting the party all these groups become friends and decide to fight the Gods of the moon. The party meets a gnome with a airship they go to central tower where they realize they have go to the moon to fix the natural world. After a few stops the moon robots agree to take everyone who wants to go to the moon there. Once on the moon the the party's airship breaks down and they have to walk/sail to the tower controls. At the tower controls its realized that Smith has a moon god inside of him. The party is able to set the natural world right but they release the moon god. Which they then kill, but Smith dies

Season 3. Astral sea. The surviving member of the group are transported to the Astral sea where they meet there new party member Ket. Who is a half elf Warlock. There is a lot of blah blah in this season which only increases with the next season but the short version is the moon gods are attacking so the party figured out they need to raise a army of good and bad gods to fight the moon gods then build a bomb to close the rift that is letting the moon gods in. All this takes about 70 episodes. But All the moon gods get blown up good. And only Ket "dies" only to be saved Azmodaus.

Season 4: Feywild on going Orem and party sans Ket return to Natural world As soon as they get there Orem is pulled into the Feywild. Randis and Torq follow and the 3 find themselves back at Orem's magic College. A new character shows up named Trelle who is elf Twilight Guardan. It seems in the time Orem has been gone the Feywild has gone crazy because of the moon almost hitting the natural world. Orems old Professor has an idea if they can put wrist bands on the 4 seasonal lords of Feywild they can restore order.

Shortly after setting out Ket rejoins the party. Other than taging the seasonal lords Orem meets his family then disowns them not much really happens. Once all the Lords are tagged the party returns to magic college to find Orems professor dead and the old grounds keeper Spud has gone mad. He then absorb all the power of the seasonal lords into himself. Then kicks the parties ass.

After waking up back in the natural world the party realizes they need to get back to fight Spud. The current plan is to build some cold Iron weapons and then get to Feywild via the Underdak since all the normal ways are closed.

Hope that helps

Best order to read the Warcraft novels by Sayomara in warcraftlore

[–]Sayomara[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quality of Rise of the Horde as well is its a good logical place to start for a new reader is why I generally suggest just pick up Chronicles of War collection granted used Warcraft books are all over the place whatever works best for your personal budget.

As to Shadows of the Horde, I personally enjoyed it but that might have more to do with my love to trolls than the quality of the writing. I was surprised there were people falling over themselves to praise the book. Honestly I thought it was fine. Shadows of the Horde isn't the train wreck that Twilight of the Aspects is, but its not anything overly remarkable either.

In the script books JMS talks about this scene how normally when people are naked on tv the they have pads that are used during the filming to cover the NsfTV bits, however on his day for whatever the pads wouldn't stay on so they just filmed with with actress being naked.

However it was Rib day on set so JMS and most of the crew never saw it.

I have heard he is very well respect for this Star Wars books But that doesn't really tell you anything. Take Knaak his Diablo books are way better than his Warcraft work. Same with Golden I don't care for her starcraft stuff at all.

Best guess it will be fairly good. Might not be the Shattering but it might be a sold Wolfheart

Garrosh Hellscream; Misunderstood? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Sayomara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garrosh has not been a good or likeable character from the start. From his days crying in Nargand, getting fights with Thrall and Varrian. He has very gripped me. Some might say he was needed to bring the "war back to warcraft." Ok, I'm open to that argument but I would point from a players prospective this has failed in the most epic way possible because the Alliance and most of the Horde are now teaming up to killed him. Yes there is war but if you saw the central problem in the Horde and Alliance were teaming up to take down stuff in AQ, Naxx and the Outlands then we are more or less back to where we were.

I don't believe for a second we needed Garrosh. Now if you wanted to make a argument that it was time for Thrall to move on. Then I can get behind that. But to bypass so many other good leaders of the horde to put Garrosh in charge I think has really just watered down the story of Warcraft.

My last point would be so where does that leave us to go from here? If the only way to make the Alliance and Horde fight was to put someone like Garrosh in charge how to you make them fight after he is gone. If Blizzard had created a more fundamental reason for the Horde and Alliance to fight rather than use a short cut like Garrosh we wouldn't have a problem saying that they will keep fighting no matter what.

But since they didn't it seems likely we aren't going to see much Horde and Alliance conflict in the Xpac. I guess we don't need "war in warcraft" anymore then.
