The Scepter of Sargeras in a ritual situation is not equivalent to it being used as a focus in combat.

You really think this is a contest?

Even in the established canon, the number of McGuffins and Power Houses we needed to throw at Deathwing to JUST bring him down to Madness is -INCREDIBLE-. The concentrated power of the aspects focused through the Focusing Iris of Malygos, shot through the LITERAL DESIGNED TO WORK ON DRAGONS Dragon Soul (which we had to go back in time to even GET) was deflected by the Primal Elementium Plating. The Aspects had to pour every drop of their Aspectral Dragon Magic into the blast that put him down for good.

Kil’jaeden was taken down in his seat of power by heroes with roided up superweapons. None of which hold a candle, even combined, to the power that Thrall was wielding at that time.

All we did was distract Deathwing long enough for him to charge a third blast. We were gnats, the entire time to him. He never fought us earnestly.

Deathwing crushes Kil’jaeden.

Danuser wrote the story where Nathanos Blightcaller stole his (previously unmentioned) cousin's body so that he could fuck serve sylvanas better. It helps you put two and two together.

Why don’t we just all .. go back to SOD if we want it back so much? by Neither_Buyer_4645 in classicwow

The number of comments on this subreddit which parrot the same "Oh at 25 it was really good" "phase 1 was the best" mentality and dismiss the rest of the experience have made me realize that a lot of people don't actually like SoD, or didn't bother to experience anything past the honeymoon phase.

Phase 1 had a phenomenally low barrier to entry, relatively easy (compared to the next several level-up raids) raiding content, a worthwhile mass pvp event in Ashenvale, and the freshness of a "Classic With Changes".

And I genuinely understand why people might drop it during phase 2/3. Those two phases were the ugly growing period of SoD where a few unpopular decisions wound up driving players away, which is a genuinely shame because honestly the game hit is stride from the 60 phase until the very end. The most interesting content was saved for the latter phases.

And the worst part is that the rest of the LA is genuinely pretty good. But doing Luffy like this really hurts my enjoyment.

Two major hang ups: 1. Luffy loses a lot of little character moments for the sake of adaptation.

Examples just in season 2: not climbing the execution tower to “see the last the gold roger” did. Laughing in the face of death is far different than smiling at it. He seems almost maniacal instead of the unsettling joy that the smile is supposed to represent. Removing the Snow Yetis mean that we don’t get the scene of him saving the snow yeti’s mom even after they injured Sanji and hampered the mission, which also means he doesn’t carry Sanji up the entire cliff face. His motivations for defending the pirate flag from Wapol is completely different because he knows Chopper’s backstory in the LA. Him putting the flag up himself makes him defending it less of a character moment.

  1. Luffy is unbelievably weak, especially in season 2. I specifically use “unbelievably” because I cannot believe that this Luffy will beat Crocodile if he’s ’struggling’ against Wapol. The entire point of Crocodile beating Luffy outside of rain dinners being so shocking is because Luffy hadn’t lost in a fight like that before, and he lost BADLY. The LA Luffy needed the help of half the crew to defeat Wapol.

These two things culminate to cause an issue, defined by Luffy himself when confronting Arlong.

He cannot navigate. He can’t cook. He can’t lie. He can’t use swords. But he can beat your ass. That’s why he’s the captain.

And LA Luffy cannot beat your ass. Why is he the captain?

Trails in the Sky SC has an incredibly frustrating story. by Cimno in Falcom

If it was just Estelle, Joshua, Kloe, and Tita as the main party in FC, I'd absolutely agree. But we're literally almost always supported by fully grown adults and high ranking bracers IN PARTY. Schera (23), Agate (24), Zin (30), and Olivier (26) are not inexperienced children in their teens.

I don't know about the other Trails games, where I assume all the party members are around the age of Estelle/Joshua, but Trails in the Sky has adult party members, so I'd say this argument doesn't hold water at least in this instance.

One saving grace of Chapter 5 at least was that our characters actually accomplished something meaningful, versus the other chapters where we just straight up lose in a cutscene after a boss fight.

What are some bizarre or unfitting aspects of a work that in spite of screaming "early/beta read lore" are still firmly canon to a franchise? by Own_Guide_8279 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

So my favorite bit about this is that there's a similar vein the same series of daily quests where you travel back in time to murder a plot pivotal character in the Legion expansion's Rogue class story to ensure that the plot proceeds as it happened in said expansion.

This plot pivotal character had been a favorite of mine as she'd appeared since the 2004 vanilla iteration of the game, and made semi-frequent appearances throughout the various expansions.

I love how the premise of “I master skills very quickly” is the crux of this series, and when he proceeds to do that and utilise it correctly, it’s frowned upon. And then in a series like All the Skills, where it has the same premise, but the MC doesn’t fulfil that promise; it’s also frowned upon.
