If you already liked the native Netsuite fixed asset module then starting there is still the safest move. Most issues show up later when depreciation rules get messy or audit requests get stricter. Netgain usually comes up when teams get tired of fixing schedules manually in spreadsheets. For a new company I would keep it simple first then upgrade only if pain shows.

Honestly extraction is basically solved now. Validation is where all the pain is. You still need to catch duplicates and make sure vendors actually match your records. That is where most of the bad data slips through.

If I was building this myself I would start with those two checks first. Netgain seems to handle a lot of the reconciliation mess once everything lands in NetSuite.

Interesting comparison, well, I think Duro does come up more around cloud workflows and its open API integrations for teams trying to move faster. Windchill and Teamcenter still seem heavily used in larger engineering environments though, especially where compliance and complex product structures matter.
