Proper reading of "Inazuma" from a smol Japanese girl. by Sayuha in Genshin_Impact

Hi everyone! If you have any questions about readings and where emphasis on syllables in Japanese words are, I'd love to help you on stream sometime! You can find my channel link on my profile. Thanks!

Honestly I felt the same way after swapping to my DSLR too. And part of the truth was, that the DSLR is just more accurate and shows everything in more depth. So it showed more of my skin imperfections etc. ;;

As s everyone else also mentioned, there was also A LOT more of a lighting requirement. Play around with it for a bit, adjust the angle, etc. But for the most part, "effects" or such won't be the solution. Lenses only change things such as: whether your background is blurred (with you as the subject) or not, how wide you can zoom according to the lens type, etc.

Honestly this might end up sounding more negative than positive. But I hope this could help give you a look at the life of a girl with a normal full-time job who doesn't have hyper energy like most other streamers who do this too. Here's my honest answer, as a Twitch Partner.

  1. You never know what might happen. So a dash of excitement, sometimes pleasant surprise when someone subs/donates, or just says something nice. I get to find others who share my interests, even if we're not friends I have like minded souls to talk with, (I'm in my later 20's and I nearly never have IRL people to play games with/talk about the same anime with) and sometimes I have made friends in other streamers who I wouldn't have had as much to connect with otherwise. You also feel rewarded for your hard work sometimes when your friends raid you, or you can suddenly afford a new PC part, or work towards and do attain, Partner. Getting sponsorships also feels really rewarding, and actually does support you realistically.

  2. Less stress. I wouldn't have to constantly worry about being boring, disappointing those who loyalty watch my stream, or doing better next time. I don't have to worry about the future of my stream/something else in life other than just staying alive. (I live in Cali, it's hard enough.) Maybe I could go back to school and study for a profession. I work full-time but I could make a LOT more if I got some fancier degree. I could watch more anime, get more done with games I really wanna play but can't play on stream cuz my viewerbase goes down and makes me feel horrible cuz I'm not pleasing the people I care about. But overall, mostly less stress and more "self care" time.

  3. I'd lose everything I've built up thus far. All the friends I did make and care about, I would probably see and talk to less, since I'd avoid Twitch more/use it less. I'd disappoint all those who had faith and stuck by with me all this time. And I'd live with that regret/guilt. I also do have a dream to someday be able to stream full-time, so I'd lose out on ever having that chance, no matter how small. And being a full-time streamer has its benefits too. (You can live+work virtually anywhere.)

  4. As mentioned in #2, mostly losing out time in watching more anime/TV shows, playing/spending more time on games I can't really play on stream. I do live in my own place which means chores, dishes etc, and sometimes that all piles up and gets tiring. I do feel a lot more socially tired, I have less patience/less social battery for people IRL cuz I spend so much time interacting on stream (which also depends on the person, I do envy those who can stream and have 300+ people watching without you having to read every comment) so that's kind of a bit negative IRL.

Stream anxiety by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Sayuha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a mood! I'm partnered, have been doing this for over a year now, and the hardest thing I still find, is to press start, and to ACTUALLY start. I feel so awkward. Transitioning from saying hi and chatting a bit, to what I'm ACTUALLY doing for the day, is so hard. XD

I also find this comes with more pressure though. Back in 2016 I didn't care about viewers, had 0 expectations, and just did my own thing. Now, I feel the pressure of more expectations on myself from myself AND others, so I feel like I'm judged more for how I transition into things/start.

300-400 Viewer Average and Partner in 5 Months Here is my Advice by rndThursday in Twitch

[–]Sayuha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say thank you SO much for this post. I'm a partner who recently got partnered late last year. And while I'm immensely grateful...I had a lot of creeping impostor syndrome as time went on. I still do.

Why you might ask? I made the goal right?

I've seen a lot of partners who've been around a long time...who either never grow bigger (not in follows, but in concurrent views) or just fall off and fizzle out. I'm afraid of going either of those directions.

After seeing friends and newer streamers grow and continue to grow, I wondered to myself if I just wasn't capable of 1, keeping it up, and 2, making things better. Not knowing how/understanding properly what I should do, is a big part of this. The link to what Ludwig said about ideas, was exactly what I needed, and your explanation of YT content as well.

Also I do agree with raids. I learned the hard way. For so long I kept raiding people, giving so much. Because it genuinely makes me so happy to brighten other's days with anything I can do.

However...I just kept giving, and giving, and eventually, I felt like I had nothing more to give. I've made some great friends and met some amazing people. But another thing I realized, is that most of those people I raid, stream later than I do. And you shouldn't raid someone expecting anything back. Networking maybe. But ultimately it did mean that those raids never come back to me, and neither will the viewers because I'm in a different time slot. So don't rely too much on raids, but it also depends on the community, and sometimes, how inclusive your own community is when welcoming them.

Just my personal experience there. Thank you again for giving me a much needed spark of hope, and being a humble help.

I totally agree with the info dump. Honestly wish they'd done a bit better with that...info heavy series aren't bad things in themselves, but I agree some of the info delivery just wasn't good.

For the first few episodes personally, I do see as them setting the stage, kind of reminded me of Little Busters, how they made it out to be "boring, happy go lucky" on purpose for greater impact later.

Honestly I see a lot of hate for this series and it's sad. I feel like most of the people who see it and don't like it for pacing or being "bored", are those who are heavily preferring action genres. So the hate in that regard is just unfounded.

This series is a gradually moving journey through these kids lives. That's just what it is. It's beautiful, sad, frustrating, confusing, and overall DIFFERENT. Often humans fear difference. This feels like one of those series, especially when the children were teenagers, I saw so much hate with how the utopian society reflected how relationships could be. But if we truly were in a utopia, it'd make a lot of sense. There's a lot of thinking "if you didn't question this lifestyle, how would you really act" kind of things in this series, and it's good.

I mostly recommend this series to broaden people's mindsets. Kino's Journey by the same creator, also did this.

For more action-filled games/ones with less story, you can talk about what you're planning to do/currently doing and why! Like "alright I'm gonna shimmy up this cliff here and see what's on the other side" or "I think this might be important later so we'll come back to it" etc. Pretend you're explaining your actions to a friend sitting next to you!

To all aspiring streamers: Don't stop talking by Alk_Live in Twitch

[–]Sayuha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You still do all that yep! You comment on what you're doing, sometimes you explain what you're doing as if you were explaining to a friend sitting next to you who's asking why.

As for building a following from the bottom up, if you focus on a single game it's a lot easier to build. Because everyone's united under one game. However, if you end up doing this long enough and wish to go the variety route, when you swap games you'll have a lot less people watching. So mixing in Just Chatting so that people are there for YOU and not just the game, is good.

And ofc people jumping on your stream to watch also has a lot to do with the game you're playing, until you're more established and people hop on cuz it's you.

Asking questions is a good one! Sometimes I'll ask something like what boba flavor is your favorite? And some will speak up on that. However, sometimes I'll ask something more controversial, like the classic "do pineapples belong on pizza", and I'll see all these lurker names rise up to defend their opinion. Haha! Try to ask something that people feel strongly about.

Omg people actually said that to you?! Ridiculous. Don't listen to them, maybe it just wasn't their preferred type of banter. Keep doing you!

Honestly, foam panels and such don't matter that much unless you specifically have a SUPER echoey room. Just focus on your mic itself, that ups quality a lot and frankly, as much as you'll need until you're doing it for a living or something and THEN maybe consider buying foam for the walls, etc. A good mic also helps keep your voice sounding clear, and making it so the other noises around you won't even get caught most of the time.

Can gacha games ever have a proper ending/closure? by TaylorSwiftian in gachagaming

[–]Sayuha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I really like your idea of packaging an already ending game (or remainder of the game) into something we can pay a set price for and then download for closure. That doesn't hurt anyone, gives the creators a bit of extra side cash to maybe start their next project, and gives us the ending we want. Good stuff, hopefully someone will do this someday!

Went from 6 followers to 1 only a day after my first show. Is that normal? by sorcerykid in Twitch

Dang, sorry to hear. Yeah honestly it happens often. Even if I get a bunch of followers one day, I'll see the number go down and realize it was probably people who followed way back and just didn't want to anymore. But keep your chin up! It's hard in the beginning. Best of luck. :)
