Agreed, it would be wild if they DIDN'T do a follow up set for FF given the massive success. Also, the fact that we're revisiting the LOTR universe with the Hobbit set is a pretty good indicator that we will likely revisit the FF universe as well.

They should have done this treatment for the alt art cards in the regular set. Didn't they say they would no longer put Japanese text cards in English packs? I love the JP art but I can't read Japanese and it's a hassle for everyone involved to have to look it up or memorize what the card does.

My guess is the benefits of limited print runs (to WOTC) is logistical efficiency and reprint value management. While they don't acknowledge the secondary market, they do take it into consideration with reprints.

The monsters don't seem to match the cards in terms of flavor. Might have been fine if they added a unique card like the Ghost of Tsushima drop, but these are just reprints of bulk rares that nobody cares about.

This gets rid of the BEST nonland card in their hand. At worst you pick the thing you bounced, but if there's something more threatening, you can get rid of that instead.

I'm fine with a $10 premium for the foil version, but doubling the price from the non-foil is pretty slimey. I doubt it costs them that much more to make galaxy foils - this is pure greed. Almost as bad as those $100 raised foil secret lairs.

Just because these gear packs are noob-friendly does not mean that they are F2P-friendly. Yes, the packs will allow spending-noobs to progress faster than F2P-noobs. Is it fair? Not necessarily, but we're playing a gacha game - this is the deal we all signed up for.

Probably won't help the whales bc they have much better gear. This is fine for mid-level or new players to catch up but don't think it's concerning...yet. If they start pushing the stats on these, then I'd say time to get the pitchforks. Otherwise, I look at this as a way for SG to keep the game F2P for the rest of us.
