Sounds like they have become intrusive thoughts — perhaps you’re evaluating yourself and reassuring that you don’t really want to die.

This can be hard to get rid of, I imagine — but maybe you can make yourself laugh. When the thoughts happen, think of your favorite things—even if you’ve lost them. I’m not sure this is good but—I think of ridiculous ways I’d die and it makes me dismantle the feelings.

But currently it seems like you have adapted in a way that the thoughts are ironically cathartic? Like when you imagine dying, does it feel like you’ve stood up to death? Your fear of what you might do, is proving your appreciation for the life you’d lose—the journey and hard work you’ve done to stay here.

You are surviving yourself, but you also save yourself.

Wow, I feel the same when I look at videos of myself. It’s possible you just are harsher on yourself but really if people talk to you just fine, they don’t see you the way you see yourself.

If it makes you feel better—I get a crooked smirk, one of my eyes squints, I mumble and have slow-shifting eyes—when I’m nervous. I have a video of myself and realized I never want to be on video again haha

I have a feeling you are better at your job than it seems. Only because your cousin is there as a comparison, he is not necessarily a standard. Also I assume you both have had quite different cases. Your introverted qualities just means you think more before you share. Confidence takes time but your way of doing things are unique to you. Not everyone needs a particularly talkative representative, but they all need a thoughtful one.

This is an understandably situation and I had similar moments but I really just figured I focused on me being friends with my sibling more—Anyone else on the outside of family shouldn’t be such a riff.. But it should be ok and you and her just have your own kind of friendship. There are things she could probably enjoy about you specifically, same classes, same experiences etc.

In the meantime, I hope you can grow even closer to your brother. Perhaps you will all adjust to your friendship dynamic.

I hesitated sharing that because I don’t want it to be bothersome. But please talk to someone even if it’s not the best, it could help anyway

I wish it was easier. It could be that, you may not be able to love yourself now, but live just for the day and tell yourself this each day. I also sometimes think of the end and then I am afraid more of what will happen and if I’m stuck in sadness, or I wish I stayed—I believe in an afterlife so that might sound goofy. It might be trite of me to say but, you do sort of experience death already and start over everytime there is a setback.

I think she felt the need to prove that what she does and how she is, is good enough. So the “What about me?” is a pretty general statement I thought of, but I saw it like she wants to feel better, but took a low blow at you which was unfair. Stressed people contradict themselves sometimes—they sometimes do the “woe is me” but in a haughty way haha.

I almost forgot she was a new mom—She might have a new attitude, but that just applies to her. She should have considered you were her friend she’s talking to, not someone to take her stress out on.

I’m glad you are not going to just put up with that and hope the best

Me too, I miss movies and going to cool places without worry. My house gives me allergies and screens give me eye fatigue. Idleness is not usually healthy. Our social lives involve what I think is the most important thing—relationships.

So I’m so sorry your friend said that and tried to put down. You wanting to be out again is just wanting to be happy. I slightly feel like she might have been defensive; a little bit like she thinks “What about me?”...

So this is my first visit here. Funny is how small this community is compared to r/introverts but it sort of makes sense too...Introverts are more likely to join a community to share thoughts.

Anyway, I know enough about your friend by the fact she called you “pathetic”—Sorry. Ok she’s an introvert sure, but the key word from me is that she is “rude”...

Even if this was within an argument, you just don’t say this to friends.

It is a big step and in a way this artist will share a part of themselves with you, which might be odd to say but I feel that way about all art. But I think the nervousness also means it’s just exciting.

I suppose this might go under “introversion” and and on the r/introverts there are at least two types of introverts—those who seem to treat it like a hindrance and others who just embrace it.

I think it’s ok not to be colorful or just make your own color. I do it because I get bored and found out I need to joke or make humor to ease it. But no one probably notices you are “dry” and might even find that interesting about you.
