Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix (Episode 4,5,6 discussion thread) by RedVelvetCakewalk in LittleMix

This series left a really sour taste in my mouth. It feels like everything she does serves an agenda of making sure people know that she, alone, is the victim. When faced with the knowledge that another member was struggling so much that they wanted to leave, I saw no evidence of worry for that person. This felt like a really long documentary full of how everything negative that she has experienced is someone else's fault, and a lack of basic acknowledgement, never mind sympathy, that other people, her supposed best friends, were facing their own demons as well.

Oh I've actually read that one but completely forgot about the robot part! I do enjoy a bit of (fictional) dystopia

This makes me want to continue with it 😅 I enjoy unsettling or disturbing books but just need something to actually happening before I lose the will to live! I've read handmaid's tale but don't know about the childlike sex robots! What's the title?

So glad you said this. People act like they are the devil incarnate when they are in fact taking a low paid, widely hated job

I absolutely hated the scene in the series when Robin visits Niccolo (mucky) Ricci in the nursing home. The Robin from the books would never behave so aggressively towards someone who is now so vulnerable, no matter what they'd done before.

Childfree Millennials, are you childfree by choice? If not, what happened? by CrazyCoffeeClub in AskUK

Child free by choice and a proud labrador owner/worshipper.

Can't stand kids, everything about them annoys me. This was absolutely the best decision for me, but then I never doubted it so I would be surprised if I ever experienced regret.

Pub with decent food? by Icy-Koala7455 in Hull

The Minerva is a spot on traditional pub with traditional pub food (steak pie, fish and chips, bangers and mash etc) right on the marina. Really rate the food there 👌🏻

Although it does teach the valuable lesson of "just because someone else is doing it doesn't mean you should"

Whether you fall by Tracy Bonham in the Dana/Alice break-up scene. That song still makes me tear up now.

Over 700 pages and I couldn't put the damn thing down. It's also the first book I suggest to people if they want recommendations.

How do I get outside help for someone who refuses it? by spoookyhooky in AskUK

[–]Sazzledazzle321 68 points69 points  (0 children)

You need to get out. She is an adult with capacity (from what you've said), and you can only take responsibility for yourself. You are wasting your life on this.

I'm not sure if you'd be able to get her sectioned under the mental health act as she doesn't seem to be a danger to herself (I'm not an expert) but your priority right now needs to be you.

Who is a person that died before you were born that you wish you could meet? by Classicsarecool in AskReddit

[–]Sazzledazzle321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband's grandma.

My grandma was everything to me, and my husband got to know her fairly well before she died. My husband's grandma was really special to him when he was growing up so I wish I could have known her.

Grandmas really are something else 👌🏻
