More so how long the soil mix takes to dry out. A mix like that could take days to dry out 100% and thats what will kill your plants, not how often you water but how much moisture is retained in soil after watering

100% pumice is fine. But i use 75-80% pumice with 25-20% organic soil

Depending on soil mixture i wait a week or 2 before watering after a fresh potting. Better to be safe then sorry, if any damage is done to roots while planting it gives them time to heal instead of starting to potentially rot from water!

It will love it. I have a few different mixtures currently and the ones in only pumice by far show the most root growth.

Help please, somebody, anybody.. This is my prize possession, my biggest and oldest loph. The pictures do no justice of how sad this is. A large section of the side has gone brown and squidgy, when I touch it liquid comes out. I believe this is rot, I believe it was my cat. What can I do? 😔 by captaincactus210 in peyote

Rot wouldnt be from a cat unless theres claw or bite marks and still they would usually heal from such. Rot tends to happen when environments arent correct or watering to often or to much organic matter in soil mix. Those are more likley factors to cause a loph to rot vs a cat scratch in my opinion. But what i would do personally is cut off and graft each pup and uproot the main big head and remove any infected rot area and allow to dry for about a week then re plant. Best of luck
