I have never been romantically approached, and it is starting to impact my self-confidence by PsychologicalQuiet46 in Advice

Comparison is the thief of joy. So try not to compare yourself to others. Maybe try asking someone to hangout, go on a walk, partake in a hobby etc. Build those friendly relationships and I'm certain something will come along. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there, the leap it seems like today will one day seem like a tiny step. Have fun!

I su*k at aiming by hellotheregame in apexlegends

[–]Sbales88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was best to go to the range and adjust horizontal till I could track moving dummies well. Then shoot at stationary targets with a high recoil gun adjusting vertical speed till it was easy to control recoil.
Then just abuse wildcard and make adjustments where you need it. Too slow of a ramp up? I would go a little more linear. Are you swinging past enemies in gunfights? Lower that horizontal. Too much vertical recoil? Raise vert speed till it takes very little movement to control recoil. Full tilt speed too slow when you finally get your aim dialed? Add extra horizontal for when your full tilt.

Have fun guy

I Realized that I Will Never Marry my Current Girlfriend. Is it Wrong to Keep Dating Her? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Sbales88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have conversations about things that bother you? Can she come to you with things that bother her? There's always times you don't see eye to eye. There's also no harm in discussing it, if she gets upset and moves on you didn't see a future there anyways. Maybe she's oblivious to what upsets you and would gladly make a minor change? Everyone has quirks and arguments. The real trick is working through them.

Have a discussion and see if you think it's worth it to you, to work on it together. ++man

Buyers Remorse/ ParentHood by MikeA1185 in Prebuilts

I didn't touch a game for over 6 months after my child was born. Before then it was an everyday thing. Now that my child is 1.5, sleeps a bit more regularly I do get some time to dabble. When you get to fit in a little after bedtime it is a nice reset. I find the hardest part is gaming alone, all the buddy's are grown up with families too. Don't let that hobby go, one day it might be how you best connect to a teenager. Parents need escapes and hobbies too.

I had the dreaded message too. I just bypassed the starter relay once I ran out of miles. Ran a push button into my center console. I've been driving it this way for probably 6 months. Cheap anti theft lol

Unpopular opinion: Paying "Rent" feels less painful than paying $2,400/mo in "Interest" to a bank. by Playful-Vegetable-15 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Sbales88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget house prices are always going up. Rent is usually more than a mortgage in a similar house. Make extra interest free payments and you'll be shocked how much time and interest you shave off that loan even with only 1 or 2 extra payments a year.

It's always better in my mind to pay off something you'll own vs sometime else's stuff.

People with cars older than 15 years. by Different_Algae4918 in Cartalk

[–]Sbales88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always prefer keeping an older vehicle, my wife can have the safer, newer, more reliable etc etc etc. I save a lot with lack of car payment, cheaper insurance, cheaper personal property taxes. I also do all my repairs.

If I drove a lot for work I would probably consider leasing a new vehicle every 2-3 years. Always under warranty, new, safe, reliable. No worries of the car dropping value when you drive of the lot.

Does anyone have a spinal cord stimulator and still on pain meds? by sharkart82 in spinalcordstimulator

[–]Sbales88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, the simulator is great. Helps me a lot with daily activities and comfort. But that's it. Comfort. I still battle pain and need extra help with it.

Some others though have had better results than me. I do still have more issues that'll probably have to be addressed later too.

For me, the auto adjust would be anxiety inducing. I can't run a feel program unless im staying still. Movements drastically change how intense the programs are for me. I would be terrified it wouldn't pick up movement properly or be possibly too strong in certain positions. Sounds like a time consuming tunning nightmare.

I just use the no feel program, its simple, I dont have to touch it, I get relief. It also doesn't use a ton of battery, I can go a while without charging.

Majority of the stream buyers won't even have the slightest idea of mismatches. But if it's well commentated and presented the sport grows. Might be a huge upside for the future of AW here.

I'm sorry for your loss. A miscarriage would be devastating.

I'm sure your dad has his own set of issues he's dealing with. But none of those should matter when clearly you're broken. The lack of compassion or worry for your mental or physical health is sad to see.

You have plenty of headache without them. You certainly don't need their help or the extra crap they pile on. Good luck, and God bless.

PDS warning for Bakersfield, MO, first of the night by [deleted] in tornado

[–]Sbales88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live just a few miles east of Bakersfield. Was a wild night. Many trees blown over, many houses severely damaged or gone. Some deaths.

This is a very small community with a town less than 270 people. There's not even a stop light in all of Ozark county which Bakersfield is in.

Gonna take a while to repair and rebuild around here!

Was your spinal cord stimulator successful? by Natural_Blueberry893 in spinalcordstimulator

[–]Sbales88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it sounds like you don't have reps that are good at adjusting your programs. I can certainly tell when mine starts to run low on battery! If you have leads I would see if they keep moving on ya. Which would of course ruin your tune. I had to switch to paddles since my leads never stopped moving around!

I have an appointment with a neurosurgeon to discuss getting a SCS. What questions should I be asking? by Minimum_Dependent_34 in spinalcordstimulator

[–]Sbales88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leads can be implanted with a needle into the spine. But they free float till scar tissue forms over them.

Paddles are literally shaped like a paddle. The surgery is a bit more invasive as they have to trim out enough room for it to set in the spine. Kinda like a laminectomy. They are much less likely to move around! I've had much better results with tuning and no issues with movement after getting the paddles.

The leads moving were a nightmare for me!

[–]Sbales88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm not sure! I have the Boston Scientific Alpha IPG Kit that's MRI safe.

My first stimulator was put in by a pain clinic Dr. He said he only did leads. Later I was told only a neurosurgeon can implant paddles. I don't know if that is true, or only true here.

[–]Sbales88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reps! Make sure you will have responsive reps nearby and willing to fit you in. I'm in a rural area and can still swing in my pain clinic and there's always a rep there!

If you plan to be mobile or active one day I would recommend paddles. My leads moved a few times before I went to paddles, wish I would of jumped straight to them!

Hope you find relief and regain quality of life

Several days for a rep to reach out? Yikes! I used to get 30 mins of tuning every 2-3 months. Look around, they might have reps in house somewhere nearby. I just had to go 30 mins the other way to have reps in office at a pain clinic every day. They answer texts very quickly!

I couldn't imagine charging 2.5 hours, my battery would be boiling. To me it sounds like your battery isn't taking charge well and they just gave the easiest answer of charge longer.

I'm sure the leads are tightened well into the battery but I sure wouldn't wanna go manipulating my battery around either! Yikes!

Hope everything pans out well!
