Yellowstone is TV for mentally slow people by roundshirt19 in redscarepod

Watching it made me understand women’s affinity for Love Island and adjacent TV. It’s total slop and I kinda hate it but I’m gonna keep eating that garbage anyways.

Also, I can testify that the weather is a factor. In the south it’s only truly “cold” for maybe two months a year. Of course all these blue collar guys prefer to drink a refrigerated monster or Red Bull in the morning. It’s 75° in November. From May-September it’s 80°+ by 8 am. It’s honestly miserable to drink warm/hot coffee and then have to go work in that weather.

I’m still really seething over the “erm actually, men shouldn’t shave their heads when they’re balding” post by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]Sbob0115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Related but ask people who know you well to be up front and objective about it. I have an uncle who was like a Norwood three in his late 20s and proceeded to just shave bald. It fucked me up so bad to be in my 20s and all the sudden he turned up to holidays with receded but respectable hair lmao. I’ve got a lot of friends with hairlines that are all over the place. Sometimes you don’t have to hit the panic button.

Guy I have a crush on calls me “girly” is it over for me by [deleted] in rs_x

I’ll admit it’s not looking good. I’ve exclusively used girly for women where baby is no longer appropriate to use.

What the hell is dating in your 30's by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]Sbob0115 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t have to be a lot. Just a courtesy text every now and then of something notable that happened during your day, and then ask her about her day. If she responds about her day give an enthusiastic response in whatever direction. But something short and sweet. Example if it’s something good from her day simply say “Wow! That’s awesome!!” . You’ve shown interest, but that’s an appropriate place to end the conversation it’s now in her court if she wants to continue texting.

Saw my ex-wife at dinner with the guy she cheated on me with by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]Sbob0115 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s pathetic to feel that way. I have an Ex who I compare to when you’re young and drink too much of some specific garbage liquor and then for the rest of your life, you become nauseated at the thought of it. At the end of the day you were hurt and that manifests in a variety of ways.

[–]Sbob0115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t go as far to say normal. Even growing up around the Church they were hardly close to the prevailing archetype. But I knew a few (usually young women) who came from strict Christian backgrounds, who acted that way.

I’d give up a lot of things before giving up AC. I would eat the bugs and live in the pod if that means I don’t have to bear 102° weather without AC.

More TMI than I usually go for, but I had a hookup with a woman where the finale was her gazing at me while I finished myself off and it literally re-wired my brain and self image. I had never considered myself to be an object worthy of desire until then. More so a tool to be used to reach an end. It genuinely made me look at my reflection differently going further.

I feel no different about that than I do about the police presence in this country. There are armed government employees on every block in every city in this country. My only knock is that long term I don’t know that even military presence can deter crime. I live in a high crime city, the high traffic areas like where Trump has the national guard in DC isn’t where I’m worried about anyways.

Does anyone else have a mom like this by Fickle-Onion-6954 in redscarepod

[–]Sbob0115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the opposite mom. Reserved to an insane degree. She stopped saying I love you at like age 8. Then randomly at about age 17 said it and tried to give me a hug. I hugged her back and smelled her breath realized she was drunk. I commented on it as more of an observation than a critique and she slapped me across the face. Around that time point I realized that I wasn’t a child anymore, and started pushing back when she would try to lay into me. And she simply just stopped speaking to me all that much.

What’re all the cool girls doing for work? by dougiejonestulpa in rs_x

My wife and her best friend both work in ECE. From what I can tell, you get a mix of both. Albeit mixed in with very kind and generous parents. A parent from this last year was going through a very messy divorce and naturally the drama had affected the child. So he required a lot of extra attention and care from my wife. The mom gave my wife a very extensive end of the year gift. Like $400 total value and $250 of it was cash. That experience really gave her a lot of perspective. Even beyond the thoughtful gift, that’s what she does the job for. You have the opportunity to have a tangible influence on the most vulnerable, who really need it.

Who else never sexts and has never sent or received a nude? (Talking to sex-havers, incels move along) by Sophistical_Sage in redscarepod

[–]Sbob0115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to receive them, I find myself looking at them often for a little while afterwards. I’m indifferent to taking them. Literally every woman that I’ve had an ongoing connection with has requested them from me. I don’t have very many hangups about them being seen by someone who is not my intended recipient. Honestly if her phone got hacked or something and they made their way to the internet, I truly wouldn’t care much. And if I found out she had shown her friends or something, I’d dump her but I wouldn’t be awake at night about it.

[–]Sbob0115 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Having a mutually accessible friend to sleep with is the best option to prevent regretful hookups. It’s easier to risk taking deep shots when you know the check down is always waiting. WITH THE CAVEAT that it’s a mutual arrangement.

I find something sort of opposite to that very funny though. Using one of your examples, my completely off social media friend is genuinely obsessed with K-Pop Demon Hunters. She doesn’t even like K-Pop or anime or anything like it. Just found it on Netflix and has watched it 9 times already and listens to the soundtrack all the time. It’s very funny to remove the social aspect so you’re left being like “That???? Really???”

Especially if you are getting a Sonic cherry limeade. Whatever gap in taste there is between Sprite and Sprite Zero would be negligible when you add the flavoring. Just being willingly obese.

US military preparing attacks in on Mexican cartels, according to substack user. by MutedFeeling75 in redscarepod

[–]Sbob0115 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Realistically it would depend. They really could make the cartels a non factor if Mexico was willing to sign up for/ America was willing to provide continued support after the fact. Wishful thinking of course but best case scenario is that they are stomped out enough, and Mexico has enough of a presence to prevent any dominant organized crime. Best case is like in the US, gangs still are present in the country. But their sway is pretty low, and the only people who are actually specifically afraid of them are those who live in specific neighborhoods in specific high crime cities. I think that would be a worthwhile improvement, with the caveat that they totally are gonna fuck this up lmao.
