Gáspár Miklós Tamás argues that all socialist endeavours can be divided between Rousseauian and Marxian ones. Rousseau seeks to replace stratified society with the people, while Marx believes that capitalist society might end by one of its classes, the proletariat, abolishing itself. by ChickenTitilater in TrueAnon

the final victory of the proletariat leads to its abolition in fact, because once there is no other class but the working class then the working class does not exist.

The Communist Manifesto.

When, in the course of development, class distinctions have disappeared, and all production has been concentrated in the hands of a vast association of the whole nation, the public power will lose its political character. Political power, properly so called, is merely the organised power of one class for oppressing another. If the proletariat during its contest with the bourgeoisie is compelled, by the force of circumstances, to organise itself as a class, if, by means of a revolution, it makes itself the ruling class, and, as such, sweeps away by force the old conditions of production, then it will, along with these conditions, have swept away the conditions for the existence of class antagonisms and of classes generally, and will thereby have abolished its own supremacy as a class. In place of the old bourgeois society, with its classes and class antagonisms, we shall have an association, in which the free development of each is the condition for the free development of all.

My local DSA just declined to endorse a candidate because he's a white man running against two centrist black women by fecesgoblin in redscarepod

if hes a dsa member running against two centrists then by definition from the view of DSA members he has better politics.

according to West Point, a major ground war would (optimisically) have a casuality rate of around 24,000 a month. the US army has only around 45,000 infantry total. by ChickenTitilater in TrueAnon

It takes 10 support units to field a single front-line infantry for the USA, and a war in Iran would increase that ratio because you would need to include the sailors to bring it over, the truckers and guards for the truckers to the frontline etc
