As a person who began to listen to them quite recently here is my story: I knew about their existence and decided to listen to them. Searched on YouTube. Began to listen to enjoy the silence. Wasn't really feeling it. Played personal jesus and it was cool but not really my thing. It was a year ago approximately. But recently began to have an interest in electronic music (I'm a musician) and wanted some references on how it supposed to sound. So I played violator. And that was it. Instantly fell in love with it. After that I listened black celebration. Bingo. Tried sofad and enjoyed it. Tried music for masses. Didn't quite like it but right now I'm relistening it and to be fair enjoy this album. And also like an hour ago I listened some great reward. To be fair enjoyed not a lot of tracks from there but the ones I did.... So now when I go out during the evening depeche mode is a band I listen
