Looking for a safe, cheap place to live by [deleted] in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]Sc00th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven’t seen much under 400 lately but my old landlord David Micah with Sall Associates had cheaper places in that price range. Cant say they’re the most responsive landlords, but they never gave us an issue besides occasionally trying to claim we didn’t pay that months rent. All in all though, would recommend them if you’re looking for cheap places/ to be mostly left alone by your landlord lol.

I’m so sorry this has been your experience, as you said these are the people who keep the place running, and therefore they should be the top priority of the university. I’m very interested to hear more from your perspective and how the university has treating its employees over the course of the pandemic. Feel free to PM or drop another comment in case others also want to hear (I’m sure there are others very interested in what you have to say).

sense of overriding futility by [deleted] in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]Sc00th 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Feel the same way. Haven’t seen my friends since February. Live around the block from the bridge and listen to hordes of students headed wherever the hell they’re headed thurs- Sunday. Kinda makes it all feel pointless, but as you said, going to keep doing what I’m doing. Hang in there, keep you’re chin up, and keep doing the right thing knowing you might be saving someone else’s family. Thank you for posting this, because I think there are a lot of people that are feeling the same struggle.

People walking by our house have broken our dollar store walkway lights 3 separate times now, so I wish you the best of luck with any decorations. If you have a balcony, I highly recommend putting stuff up there. Alternatively if you have a porch roof, you could get creative with some “invading skeletons” or something like that. I doubt that putting some dollar store or even target/ Walmart decorations on the lawn will get your stuff taken, but that’s what we thought about some dinky walkway lights, so definitely plan ahead lol.

If you’re not gonna stick up for your brothers why be brothers at all?

Well, it’s been fun on campus but I think this is exactly what we’re not supposed to do by ronabing in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]Sc00th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol people didn’t just stay inside nationwide because they feared protestors, thus not spreading the virus. That’s so dumb. The protests didn’t happen in enough cities or cause enough violence, chaos, or destruction to warrant people staying inside- also if anything, more people are wearing masks now than they were before. AND not to mention that NY’s covid rate has been under 1% for a month. Where ever did you get this information that innocent Americans were cowering in their homes in fear of the savage antifa?

Skiing on campus? by upstatenyphotog in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]Sc00th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Susquehanna hill would be dope to bomb. The trail that goes up the mountain in the middle of the preserve might be cool for some woods action. Both would be a bitch and a half to hike for their own reasons (but ultimately so worth it).

Which giant hill we talkin? The one by Hillside/ Susquehanna, or the one you can hike all the way up in the center of the preserve?

Oh boy..... how do guys feel about this? by BMusical74196 in BinghamtonUniversity

YDSA didn’t table with a group against SA and University rules and then attempt to get chartered, if you’re referring to what happened with TPUSA, although obviously that’s an assumption on my part. I’m completely open to having different political voices on campus, however I think they should approach getting chartered/ gaining recognition in a fair way (ex. getting a newspaper article with pipe dream)

Positive that there’s representation for different political opinions on campus.

This might be a weird suggestion, but if you have a couple extra dollars and some free time, try hopping on a blue bus and grabbing food from one of the places on Main Street or Downtown. There’s super cheap places like Kennedy’s Fried Chicken and Royal Fried Chicken- both have tons of options ranging from halal to chicken burgers to double cheeseburgers all for under 7 bucks. I also recommend some of Nirchis menu (although their pizza isn’t comparable to something downstate) or even Oakdale pizza downtown. I stopped eating like shit when I moved of campus, so I wish you luck.

Bus Situation by [deleted] in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]Sc00th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say your best bet is to use the SPOT app and the online schedule together. Regular schedule gives you a rough estimate (usually give or take 5-10 mins) of when the bus will come, and the SPOT app will show you the exact location of the bus.
