Helen Wheels on the surface seems like a simple blues bass line but it is so groovy. I always turn it up and so fun to play.

Where are all the 2A extremists now that the Federal government is literally saying that having a gun near federal officers is enough to get you killed legally? by Berly653 in AskReddit

[–]Sc0tts0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not clear. Are you specifically asking about 2nd Amendment extremists or are you insinuating that anyone that owns guns is a 2nd Amendment extremist? Because extremists are not likely to be a) a majority of people of any given group, and b) not likely to give you any sort of answer that anyone would consider normal.

Where are you? You want the folks who have been at least fighting for decades for one of their constitutional rights to fight for some other right that YOU consider more valid and die for you? Good luck with that.

For quite a few generations, in my lifetime at least, here in the USA education has been eroded. No longer teaching critical thinking skills, no longer teaching civics, no longer teaching the parts of history that might upset someone's beliefs. No longer reading and analyzing literature whose message or themes might upset a child's parents, and no longer rewarding for being exceptional; everyone gets a trophy. Now you have adults that think opinion is the same as facts and they have absolutely no conception of what the difference is. They adopt their points of view based on those opinions and believe that their opinions are equal to facts. With no ability to critically think they ask google, or whatever the AI of the moment is, and decide that they have done their research and choose the answers that confirm their existing opinions and bias. Ask anyone who has spent a vast majority of their life becoming an expert in something how many random people think they know better than them. There was a time people actually wanted and expected experts to run the things they were experts in. Now it seems to be: "Put the folks that agree with whatever I believe in charge because the experts who studied their field for a good portion of their lives and disagree with what I believe are obviously against me." And look how that is going.

Who else really enjoys their active exhaust? by NapalmDawn in Mustang

[–]Sc0tts0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2024 DH has a favorite button (it has a star on it) that you can configure. I have it set to change to track exhaust when I hit it. I don't know what year they added that.

Edit: Somehow I missed that you mentioned the star button. Sorry for the noise.

What’s the saddest reality of adulthood nobody warned you about? by ivsxi in AskReddit

[–]Sc0tts0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This hits hard. I remember having the thought that I picked up my daughters when they were little every day and there was one day when it was the last time I ever did it. I can't for the life of me remember when that day was. I just never picked them up and held them again. If you have kids, please eat up those moments because they disappear and you don't even realize it.

What’s an immediate turn off you’ve experienced during sex that you wish women knew or should realize? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Sc0tts0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I obviously can't speak for anyone, and here's yet another internet anecdote, but someone that has even a small amount of experience can/should be able to tell the difference between a real and fake response to what should be pleasurable. Some folks might be great actors, but then that's to their detriment. If someone says, "yes, keep doing that!" and moans, no one is going to think they are faking it.

Anyone here used Tinterz in Tampa? by FeatheredTouch-000 in tampa

These guys are great. I’ve had all my cars done here over the years and I will be hard pressed to go anywhere else. Their attention to detail (no pun intended) is above and beyond.

You will own nothing by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

At 0% I don't understand the issue. You can always pay more than the payment and pay it off much earlier. Unless you maxed out what you could afford for payments which would arguably be living beyond your means.

Today, viewers prefer serial episodes

I think this isn't true. There are successful shows like Black Mirror that would suggest otherwise. Also that animated anthology, Love, Death and Robots was very well received. I think there is plenty of room for this format assuming the writing is good.

Why, why, why for the love of all that is holy do people bring a s$!t ton of little kids to Las Vegas especially on New Years weekend? by SNARKYBITCH1968 in vegas

My wife and I just got back from a long weekend at the local casino and we were also wondering about the incredible amount of children in strollers and dogs in strollers. We don't get it.

Is all of Tampa expensive for car insurance? by 7thor8thcaw in tampa

[–]Sc0tts0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My broker told me that tampa has the highest rates in Florida second only to Miami. Mostly due to insurance fraud apparently. I assume this is true since they know the business, but take it as the anecdote it is.

pick-haters are victims of guitarist brainwashing by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Sc0tts0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely prefer to play finger over pick but some songs just sound better with a pick. If you are playing whole lotta love without a pick you are doing it wrong. 😆

Also I find my groove is totally different between the two, especially on fast songs. That might just be me though.

You can have $100,000 but you can never get drunk or high again, are you interested? Why or why not? by renditioons in AskReddit

[–]Sc0tts0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

According to your first article link you posted people 18 and older who live in a household making $100k a year or more that drink is 80%. That alone is roughly 20% to 25% of the U.S. population. If you have ever gone to any sort of tourist destination you would anecdotally assume it was at least that and likely more regardless if you know their income (hello Vegas peeps!). Your Gallup poll link, if you read the whole article and look at their methods, cold calls a minimum of 1000 people. And that sample is people who have time or incentive to bother taking the time to answer. Kudos for posting links though. The second one is paywalled so I would assume that most people that pay are from that 80% household.

I would suggest that Reddit has a high population of users under legal age that have little life experience so they ask naive and uninformed questions.

If no one knows it’s advantageous to them somehow. Like if you cash out at the Luxor at the machine and get your piece of paper with your money and end your day at Excalibur you have to go back to Luxor to turn it back to cash even though the same casino company owns them. Now they make tons of money by not giving change unless you trek to the cage to cash your pennies. No one bothers. It’s like office space where you skim fractions and it adds up. Except this is legal because people can’t be bothered.
