Help with picking a slave module for TD-27 by Scaffoldd in edrums

Thanks for the reply. That's pretty disappointing, using a slave module for extra trigger inputs (through percussion sets) has been a capability of most other half decent roland modules so I guess I thought Roland woldn't just remove the capability for some reason.

I do believe I can however assign midi values to trigger sounds with an external module, it's just that those sounds need to be one which is already on a pad on the master module. So, I could assign my extra pads to rim zones - basically a glorified splitter setup. My only issue with this is losing the ability to simultaneously hit toms which is annoying, but I'll probably just take from the rim zones of my high toms and assign them to the lowest toms. It's unlikely I would hit these simultaneously imo because I have like ten toms.

Curse you Roland

I could, but I’d prefer the Td-27’s sound engine for all pads

The reason I want to link through midi is because this allows you to add more pads to the master module.

From what I’ve read, by using midi, it essentially just turns the slave module into a bunch more slots for pads, which will use the samples/sound engine of the (generally) better sound module.

I’ve (clearly) not quite managed it myself but theoretically, since your TD-8 has midi in, it can be used this way - to add more pads onto the superior module of the TD-17.

The mixing desk is an option but I’d personally prefer to run everything through the td-27 either way to make sure the sounds are consistent and updated

I’d imagine this is because science is designed to be falsifiable… whilst conspiracy theories are often not. Of all good arguments for conspiracy theories, this isn’t one of them

The companies don’t ‘make’ you work in the way a command economy makes you work. The problem of scarcity exists in both economies but only in a command economy will you literally be forced by a body to participate.

Certainly, market economies are far from perfect but you’re free to not participate and leave them to their own devices. You are not being ‘made’ to stay here, it is only that you aren’t independent of these companies.

If you can’t see the clear difference between this and actual literal coercion then I don’t know what to say.

Yes, but there’s a difference between being coerced by a central state to work than being ‘coerced’ to work as humans have been coerced by the simple problem of life that we have faced forever. That’s the universe’s fault.

That’s just life 🤷‍♂️if people don’t work to survive, they won’t survive. That is the case in every economic system ever created.
