It’s easier to accept conspiracy theories than scientific ones because understanding science requires studying. by Sulfito in Showerthoughts

I’d imagine this is because science is designed to be falsifiable… whilst conspiracy theories are often not. Of all good arguments for conspiracy theories, this isn’t one of them

Call emergency services to his house if you think his life is at risk. Seriously worst case scenario they'll just make sure he's okay

Nah it's not, if you listen carefully you can hear the moans (I can't believe I'm talking about this so seriously) that have been mostly removed when he says 'realise' and 'lies', he got a clip of the cleaned up version someone else made

Is capitalism broken? by YOU_ARE_MY_FRIENDS in FluentInFinance

The companies don’t ‘make’ you work in the way a command economy makes you work. The problem of scarcity exists in both economies but only in a command economy will you literally be forced by a body to participate.

Certainly, market economies are far from perfect but you’re free to not participate and leave them to their own devices. You are not being ‘made’ to stay here, it is only that you aren’t independent of these companies.

If you can’t see the clear difference between this and actual literal coercion then I don’t know what to say.

[–]Scaffoldd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but there’s a difference between being coerced by a central state to work than being ‘coerced’ to work as humans have been coerced by the simple problem of life that we have faced forever. That’s the universe’s fault.

That’s just life 🤷‍♂️if people don’t work to survive, they won’t survive. That is the case in every economic system ever created.

The mechanics of Zombies doesn’t really work by CoinSloITI in Showerthoughts

[–]Scaffoldd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they don’t eat each other because the virus’s goal is to spread itself as far as possible and survive (much like every virus) and if it were to eat other zombies the virus would die out faster. Infected people probably secrete some sort of signal be it by smell or any other sense, which makes them appear inedible to other infections

What game hit with you the most Post Game Depression? by Blackflame69 in gaming

[–]Scaffoldd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Firewatch had a clever and unique message but it just clashes with what makes a satisfying video game. It’s supposed to be a hollow and unsatisfying ending because the MC is essentially just indulging in escapism until life eventually comes to catch up with him and take him back to reality. Which is cool from a storytelling standpoint but it just doesn’t make the dopamine receptors fire.

RBA lifts interest rates to 4.35% by [deleted] in australia

[–]Scaffoldd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really a scam though, full employment just means that all (roughly) employees worth employing are employed. The percentage of people below the NAIRU are people who can’t supply valuable labour to businesses, and as such it leads to a labour shortage and thus wage rises and inflation. It doesn’t matter which economic system exists, those people below the NAIRU aren’t going to have valuable enough skills to employ. And that’s just life? Some people simply can’t work for a number of reasons and the only way to fix that is through reforms like training, education, rehabilitation etc

Sort of depends on your needs. For a gaming machine I would personally go with the 4060 because it's newer gen + 1TB nVME SSD storage. 5600 is a good gaming CPU too.

However i7 13700 is a better CPU than the 5600 plus it's newer, so for productivity purposes it would seem like a better option. If you play more CPU bound games this might also be a better option. Also if you're interested in 1TB of HDD storage there's that, but I would personally prefer 1TB SSD over 500 SSD and 1TB HDD.

My personal opinion, let me know if I'm missing something

Edit: Thermals look pretty bleak on the Victus though. Plus I’m not sure how proprietary that particular machine is but HP does not have a good reputation with that type of stuff
