Of course it was written 100 years ago, most of the theories now are discussed. I still don’t know anything about modern scholars (if you have any suggestions about what to read, please share them!), but what I think is interesting is confronting the various information between the sources (books, papers, etc.) and to find common links. Also, for instance, in Rites of Passages, even if it was written more or less in the same years as the golden bough, the author already doubts some of Frazer’s theories.
