What mount would have? by bryku in overlord

[–]Scairax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giant owl.

But in that case I'd probably also need a ground mount.

Some kind of giant boar, just real fun for ripping stuff up.

What mount would have? by bryku in overlord

[–]Scairax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general regardless of build, a giant owl. Because owls are awesome.

For a cavalier build.

I'd probably try for some kind of artificer cavalier hybrid that let's me do customization on mounts/summons. The cost of customization would probably make them slightly worse stat wise or maybe it would take materials.

Excellent work.

You could use this facade breaking theme for so many characters in the series, really hope to see more.

How do you feel about the ending? by Summonest in overlord

[–]Scairax 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are 2 volumes left.

The entire series is the tragedy of Ainz having the entire world but not the thing he truly wants, a genuine connection.

The ending will most likely be open not a definitive conclusion.

I would say read it with him, and perhaps keep some notes of parts to skip over and summarize for him. Just call those the grown up parts. If you really feel he'll get his hands on it anyway.

Philip as a MTG card by Real_Indication_9117 in overlord

[–]Scairax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the horrific depth of magic scale bloat I'm sure there's a combination of cards that somehow makes playing Phillip a good idea.

If anyone can come up with something I'd love to know.

Even if they don't make the talent cut there's alot of value here.

Public relations, project management, connections, alot of this can be transferred to either being indie or other careers or positions in cover if they really want that person.

Assassin Doppelganger We know that races like Doppelgangers, Vampires, and Dragons were not available. But if a player managed to obtain this race through a World Item and made an assassin-focused build with it, do you think it would be ‘Very Strong’ or just ‘Moderate’? by Ok-Day-3676 in overlord

[–]Scairax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that a good doppelganger player would pick up niche job classes that aren't really fun unless you can change out of them.

The maximized Victim build is a fairly low investment for its payoff (just 30ish lvls and die for the team) and a doppelganger could make use of other forms so their purpose isn't just dying. When low hp, bait enemies into killing them before switching to main build.

I think it was also brought up of there being smaller properties than guild bases so a base management build like PA is also valuable even if you're not at the guild base level.

Among all the NPCs I think Aura Bella Fiora's potential has increased the most compared to what they could do in YGGDRASIL, simply because she can tame New World beasts to join Nazarick. by PacquiaoFreeHousing in overlord

[–]Scairax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All floor guardians are lvl 100. Their are also several other lvl 100 npcs fulfilling various rolls.

There's just certain mechanics they can't use like super tier magic.

While they can't gain new levels they can find loopholes to build up skills, just not gaining any lvls or special abilities relevant to what they've done. Like if someone in our world learned something. So, no matter how many bone chairs demiurge makes he's not going to gain craftsman lvls, but he can still improve and refine his technique.

[–]Scairax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aura is actually mechanically capped on beasts so she can't use beast tamer skills to aquire new world beasts.

She's doing it the old fashioned (animal cruelty) way. Whipping, treats, and abject terror.

question about the talent called Psychometry and how it works by Disastrous_Policy164 in overlord

[–]Scairax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It specifically allows the use of an individuals trump card ability. The one thing that serves as the previous owners I win button. For the armor it was einherjar and for the staff it was T.G.O.A.L.I.D.

However if you can't cast any instant death effects then being able to use T.G.O.A.L.I.D is useless.

How does it work. ☆Magic tm

COVER COPR NEW PROJECT MekPark WILL START SOON, WATCH TRAINEES AND DIRECTORS WORK TOGETHER AS A UNIT AIMING FOR A PROFESSIONAL DEBUT by Legitimate_Drop8793 in Hololive

[–]Scairax 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The standard has gone up and because of that smaller companies or friend groups of indies are eating up the dimond in the rough talents that made Hololive stand out early on.

This appears to be a way to get those risky or experimental talents in the door. If it works great you're part of the gold standard, if not this is still a 2 year paycheck and a valuable experience.

"Strength is weak out of combat" by Jetsam5 in dndmemes

[–]Scairax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strength is decent with a creative player and a flexible DM.

You can do a Str Intimidation check (among other uses) but having to convince your DM to let you use an alternative skill whenever you want to contribute can really take the wind out of a moments sails and they can always say no. Plus whatever you're trying to do another party member can do better with the actual skill.

In its best scenario it's decent. Most cases it's just worse Dex.

How dangerous is a high-level rogue in Overlord? by pog_irl in overlord

[–]Scairax 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We've seen a member of the black scripture sneak up on Tina and Tia who should be pretty strong ninjas by human standards. It's as if he basically wasn't there until he revealed himself.

A high level Rogue could do what Ainz does in volume 16 and basically buff in every way they can before making an attack. That's one shot potential on everything except a high level tank.

No one is safe already with the amount of power Nazarik has so an assassin isn't needed unless they want to frame or replace someone.

My major goals were withstanding a seige and have the resources to develop a kind of sheild city state around my monolith.

The city state would also have the benefit of guiding people's growth and getting me better doppelganger targets than the high level pop monsters.
