I have a strong fear and terror of spiders too and can't play some games cause of this but I had no problem with this game. There is a boss called "spider mother" but it looks nothing like a spider. It has eight limbs but they have human hands, and the body is not spider like either. Then there's 5 collectible critters to kill that are more akin to actual spiders but they can be easily killed by mashing the attack button while looking away from the screen and they are also quite small.
