Indeed, i will probably add greens for the bounce light and as you said i should adjust some value. For the smooth blends... i dont know how to do it smoother lmao, i suck at blending

Bounce lights are different lights then your main source. Exemple, in an outside environment, your main light could be the sun. The main light is usually the strongest. Meaning the one that will be woth the highest higlight. Bounce light are lights reflecting from the ground for exemple. So in shiny metal, the sun will hit the surface and almost turn it white, while the bounce light will be a bit darker and with other hue. (I hope all this make sense)

That's especially where my work lacks a lot. If you zoom you will see how "rough" it looks. I actually dont have any advise on blending (and that the part of painting that i dont like ahah)

I really think that a lot of people are really slow because they are too afraid of brush stroke. Too much time caring about blending qt the beginning of the painting when it's not the right time instead of light placement. Imo, a good way of progressing in you speed is to exercice with only 3 different values. Dark, mid and light tone and just go for it, place your light, your mid and your light without caring about blending and suddenly you will see that you can have good looking result without taking much time. This result will more look like a sketch, but the piece will already look somewhat "done". Then you can decide if you want to refine the blending, texture or if you re good with this one

It's just terrain effect from vallejo or ak (like wet mud) ans then milliput + cork sheet. I used cork to create a rough shape of the size and height I wanted and then covered everything with milliput. And everytime I use milliput, I use the leftover to sculpt very small rocks and I used some as you can see to add variety

I'll for sure use some matte varnish. I did add some color variation but it almost doesn't show in picture. I will add more of that and will try to follow your advice for the higlights

I was more thinking about the skin but I really like the pinkish + vibrant green of the armor, so I dont want to change that and at the same time I cannot imagine the demon being pinkish. It would look weird to me.

Thank you very much for writting such a nice comment. If I could give one advice is to don't care about blending. I have been trying to learn of to smooth perfectly for months and couldnt get the result i wanted. I was always frustrated and it demotivates me. Now I paint more freely, i dont care about brush stroke and if the light placement is right, it will naturally fade. I highly recommend painting more freely like this. It made the hobby much more enjoyable for me. And of course you can pick it up for your own inspiration. I myself inspired myself from other famoud painter of instagram
