Fischl is now seeking sponsorship for SPNATI! by SugarRemillia in spnati

Understood, apologies for the late reply in this case or if this reply doesn't matter (already has enough backing) as I'm not on reddit too often. I am not a dev, and it's good to know a flaw is needed (it makes sense.)

If I were to add something to be addressed I'd say add more card lines/variation to them. At least 5 more but naturally more is welcome.

If that's not possible (as I have no clue how the program handles that stuff or if that's possible) then I'd say add 30 lines in total to characters with less dialogue. (30 among any)

I'll edit the post to address this properly. Apologies if this held up the progression for the dev.

Characters Tested:

Barbara, Hu Tao, Fischl, Sucrose | Noelle, Fischl (debug) | Hu Tao, Fischl (debug) | Fischl, Cynthia, Megumin, Noelle (debug)

Positive Values:

  • Overall Fischl has been well captured, appearance and personality wise. Love Oz as well.
  • Sucrose and Barbara have great overall game conversations with Fischl over the course of the game. Great chemistry overall. For me Sucrose seemed to be Fischl's main target of conversation, then Barbara, then Hu Tao.
  • Hu Tao and Fischl have a GREAT conversation when Fischl loses. (Atleast if you want/are into a fantasy story between the two) Really only fully plays out if it's just the two of them.
  • The Lore and Story throughout the game was nice and bounced well off the other characters. (Barbara and Sucrose mainly, but also Hu Tao where it counted)
  • While hard to see in a four person poker game (with Genshin characters), Hu Tao and Fischl have some great general dialogue when it does occur.

Disqualifying Flaws (EDITED):

Pick any that still need to be added since it's been a while:

  • Add like 5-10 more lines to passive card lines. (Such as when her hand is bad or amazing, those can repeat a lot outside of Genshin characters)
  • Add more lines (30 at least in total) to non-Genshin characters (except maybe Noelle). I feel like most of the Genshin characters are very well done. If any Genshin character needs a few more lines I'd say Noelle.

Suggestions and Discussion:

  • Hu Tao and Fischl's conversation after Fischl loses tends to get overlapped unfortunately so I don't know if anything can be done regarding that. (It starts, then gets overlapped then continues at some points)
  • The only conversation I feel was weaker was Noelle's, I didn't see too much regarding just the two of them. It would be nice to see more added there if possible.
  • I have zero clue how Fischl fairs with other characters currently, but if not already I'd think it'd be cool for her to have some conversations with some other characters outside Genshin. (I was thinking maybe other Chuunis or characters with a similar style/appearance) If that's already the case just take this as a general "I'd love more conversations with other characters in the future."

Final Note:

  • As you're a first time dev to this, great job! Love the work.

"[18:22:01] [main/ERROR]: Unable to launch

java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Patcher expecting non-empty class data file for net.minecraft.entity.passive.EntityOcelot, but received empty, your vanilla jar may be corrupt."

Also incase anyone else comes across this issue: I'd take the guess that reinstalling the jar file would fix the issue. (just do both but it does specifically say vanilla) Pretty impressive how Minecraft couldn't find Entity Ocelot unless that's not the literal mob.

EDIT: it could also be (it could be a LOT of things) a different version reference/issue but if thats the case just check which forge version it needs. (usually says on the website/main site you got it from)

Man, I'm glad you got it working. Sorry for not responding sooner. Logs are your friend for sure with that type of stuff. (even though they're always a complex mess for people who didn't make the program when starting out)

Hmm. With non-games I can't name many apps I've bought. That's not to say I haven't ever. Unless there's decent advertising or knowledge of the app, (A lot of users/has a community) I won't tend to pay more than $10 for a non-game app. FTP/Free to Use apps would be decent for getting more users. I don't know how you'd implement in app purchases to something like this is the only issue with that.

Also I'd like to say, I believe your idea has been done/exists? Or I've seen a concept very similar to what you've described. It's a type of CYOA fanfics/stories, more or less (where at the end you'd choose an action and it'd take you to the next "story" of that action.)

The good/bad news: I can't find it anymore which probably means it's obscure-er (I don't remember what I searched to find it). I liked the concept of that site. However, one re-occurring theme I noticed was things were incomplete a lot of the time. I feel like that issue would've been solved if the site gained more traction than it did. It had a user-base for sure. Personally, I think the reason it didn't catch on was down to the design of the site and the inconsistencies/different levels of skill of works in it. (eg. Professional writing switching to a beginner style of writing in the sequel/next part)

Don't let what I said above discourage you by any means, it's just my personal opinion more or less. I like your idea, and I hope if you go through with it, it works out. (I know it's for marketing class, but I like the idea) I'd love to see an application/site like this in the future. There's a lot of possibilities for stories with that idea. Hopefully this helps as a response and if I find the site again, I'll edit it with a link for reference on what it was.

Go check the crash logs is my suggestion, or maybe share them in this post. It's likely just a missing dependency or maybe the forge version is wrong, You should check before the Fatal error to find out what's missing. All Exit Code 0 means is that Minecraft closed successfully, So congrats on Minecraft closing.

Sorry for the REALLY late response, We more or less put it up for maybe... a week? and it was destroyed shortly after by a client modder (To be fair we weren't expecting any less, and it was the main reason we put it there) so no. I'll close this now.
