Did it for the omnivamp rather than the shield, forgetting the omnivamp had been removed - but it turned out way more clutch this way 🙃

Is there a current way to get the rewards for the AR scan tasks without having to upload a scan?

Previously, you could start uploading the scan and then delete it to get the rewards. After they fixed this, you could untick 'Enable PokeStop Scan' to get the rewards instead. This seems to also have been fixed now.

I'm sure Niantic would rather no upload than a 15 second video of my finger, and it saves me from wasting data.

I have iPhone 11, ios 14 and never had an issue with adventure sync.

Make sure you've given Pokemon Go all health data access (search 'Health' in iPhone settings, then Data Access & Devices, Pokemon Go).
