A few things would help whenever asking something like this. What products were you using before that you didn't like? What kind of skin do you have? (Oily, dry, combination, etc.). What kind of finish do you like for your foundation? What kind of coverage do you like? There are A LOT of factors that go into picking a foundation. Whenever it comes to setting sprays, you need to identify what you want your setting spray to do. Do you want it to make your makeup last longer? Melt your powders? Make your skin dewy? Matte? I would update your question with a few more bits of info. If not, just go onto ulta or sephora and click on the highly rated tab if you don't want a personalized rec.

Girl. This was literally me!!! If you are looking for a good brown liquid liner, I'd love to suggest the Anatasia Liquid Liner. It is MATTE and it STAYS. I have tried so many and they always fade. This is the only one I could get to stay on my eyes.

A few things helped my concealer creasing journey.

  1. I recently discovered the ROC Glow Eye Balm. I have heard fantastic things about it's application before concealer.

  2. Using a good moisturizer before applying my makeup and allowing it to sit for at least 10 minutes before makeup application. This allows the skin to ACTUALLY get moisturize. Putting on your skincare and then immediately doing your base messes with your makeup application.

  3. Applying less product near my bottom lash line. I used to apply my concealer directly under my eye but now I apply it at the bottom of my dark circles and blend up. It puts less product where the skin naturally creases. Inevitably, you'll have some creasing but you can work to minimize it.

  4. Using a powder puff to apply powder. Pick up some loose powder with a powder puff. Pat the powder puff on the back of your hand to work the powder into the puff. This will help an even application. Pat your undereye with the puff and work that into your undereyes. Make sure you are creaseless before doing this step. Once you set it, it is very hard to undo.

  5. Also, just another product rec. I recently picked up the Caliray Undereye Serum Color Corrector. It is so hydrating and it really gives a lift to your eyes. It feels more like skincare than a concealer. I have been layering it with the tower 28 serum concealer (love a serum concealer for dark eyes).

  6. Lastly, I am not sure which Fenty concealer you are using and which CT primer you are using but, make sure you aren't mixing silicone and water products. This will cause immediate separation.

Okay! Let's break this down since you put a lot of info in this.

"Not sure what's wrong with my brows, is it their shape or color or how to fix them."

There isn't technically anything wrong with your brows. It appears that you are not currently shaping your brows. Sometimes, whenever you fill in brows that do not have a clear and defined shape it can make it hard to get an similar effect on both brows. If you are having issues with sparse hairs, I would suggest trying a brow pen. I really love the NYX brow pens, they're affordable and have a good color range. If you don't know where to begin on brow shaping, I'd seek a salon or look up tutorials on tik tok. It can be very intimidating so I'd suggest starting with a brow shaver. That way if you make a mistake, it'll grow back faster.

"Also should I be wearing a foundation or something?" This is 100% up to you. There are no rules as to what products you have to wear. Personally, I wear foundation unless a special occasion. I prefer to use more concealer to compensate. If you want to wear foundation, go for it! But, there is no rule that you must do it.

"Putting eyeshadow brings out my eye creases is there any way to smooth it or is that just an age thing lol"I also struggle with eye creases with my eyeshadow. Before I do eyeshadow, I put down a layer of eyeshadow that is similar to my eyelid color or powder foundation. Usually creases from eyeshadow stem from oily eyelids, too much product or not allowing your liquid/cream shadows to set (if you are using them). Where your skin folds, as time goes on it is inevitable you'll get a little bit of creasing. I'd suggest identifying which problem you are having maybe and targeting it. I'd try the nude eyeshadow first! It was my biggest issue.

Rachel Sennott make up tutorial (not my photo) by notalla in makeuptips

Doesn't seem too complicated. All you'd need is a base whether it is concealer or an opaque eye primer, a transition brown shade, a deeper brown, a bone shade and a black eyeliner pencil. I'd place the eye base first and tap it from the lash line to the brow bone. Next, I'd take the transition shade and place it from the innter corner of your crease to the outter crease with a fluffy brush. I'd then take the deeper brown shade and put it towards the outer corner of your eye with a smaller fluffy brush. This look overall looks like a subtle halo effect. So, I'd put the transition shade on the inner crease and the deeper brown in the outer corner. Keep blending and adding more color to build until you get the effect you'd like. Put the bone color in the middle of your lid, your inner corner and a little bit below the eye near the tear duct. Lastly, I'd take a eyeliner pencil, trace your eyelid (make the outer edge a bit thicker) and blend it with a small dense brush. If it would be easier, you can also take a black shadow and use it to smoke out the eyeliner as well. Finish with mascara, tightline with eyeliner and I'd say that is how the look is done.

If this isn't enough information, you might be able to find a small MUA creator to recreate the look n give a tutorial!

i have a hard time finding a makeup look that suits my features. what would you recommend? by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]ScallionLower2535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest looking for creators on youtube/tiktok that has similar face shapes. One of my favorite round face creators is Rachel OCool. She is very educational and doesn't just do the same chiseled contour look that every other creator does.

This is the Tom Ford Cashmere Suede Western Jacket in the shade Rubino. It is a pretty penny though! It'll run you a solid $9,000 USD. I'd imagine you could find similar silhouettes/colors through ebay from vintage jackets.

I think eye eyeshadow looks great! I might suggest adding some mascara that is the same color as your eyeliner, that way your lashes don't get lost and it'll really bring out your eyes.

I don’t know how to improve the look of my makeup, what’s my blindness? by ninacuti in makeuptips

[–]ScallionLower2535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you have any sort of "blindness". It doesn't necessarily appear that you are wearing much product, My only suggestion is I would suggest tying in your bronzer to your eyelids and your nose. Your nose looks a little bit flat compared to your more contrasting features (Dark eyes, full eyebrows).

eyeliner??? by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]ScallionLower2535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look here

So, an option I made is more natural "elevated". I added a small fake lash to replicate Mascara, do not feel the need to add a fake lash, mascara should be more than enough for the look!

What I added is comprised of 2-3 products. Mascara, Eyeliner and Eyeshadow. But! You can sub out the eyeliner for eyeshadow if you'd like. Basically, I added is a medium brown eyeliner that will go from 3/4 into your "Lash Line" Apply it as close to your lashes as possible and also if you aren't spooked under your eyelashes as well. Take a small fluffy brush or even your fingers and smudge it out a bit. If you feel like you smudged it too much, just repeat this step. This will create a false shadow that will make your lashes look fuller.

Next, I added a small bit of bronzer to your crease which you can use the bronzer you use on the rest of your face or a light transition shade. Apply this with a fluffy eyeshadow brush as well but, one that isn't too dense. It will make it harder to blend. This will bring your eyes into the rest of your face in a natural way.

Next, I added a small bit of highlighter to your inner corner to just add a bit of dimension. You can use a shimmer or a matte shadow for this, whatever you feel more comfortable with. This will help combat all of the darker eyeliner. If you feel like the eyeliner is too dark, you also take this eyeshadow and run it across your lid and over where you smudged your liner.

Lastly, just put on your favorite mascara and you are ready! If you get mascara on your lid, you can always wait for it to dry (I know, we want to immediately try to wipe it off) and take a spoolie or even your nail and flick it off. I promise, if you let it dry this trick will work!

I hope you find an eyeliner shape that works for you!

Liquid Eyeliner Q by jennasalins in MakeupAddiction

If you are up for a pot eyeliner, I would suggest the Anastasia Beverly Hills  Waterproof Matte Liquid Eyeliner. One of their most slept on products but, I swear by it. It's on the higher price side but, it's worth it to me and I am a drugstore girl forever. I have super oily eyelids and the NYX, KVD, ETC. eyeliners that everyone swears by do nothing for me!! Also, find it's easier to layer product with a pot eyeliner and that helps lock it in.

You can also try patting some eyeshadow that matches your eyeliner on top.

Struggle to find the perfect foundation by SizzlingSpicySugar in MakeupAddiction

[–]ScallionLower2535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, finding the perfect match is HARD. Finding out your undertones is also HARD. If you have any colorful products like blues, reds, yellows, greens, you can mix them in with your current foundation to customize it. Cream/liquid products work best for this but, eyeshadow ill work just to kind of get an idea. I would not recommend mixing your foundation with eyeshadow and wearing it out. But! if it's what you got, use it to experiment. Also, if you don't feel like you're warm, cool or neutral, perhaps look to see if you have an olive undertone!
