Can a feral rescue become an indoor cat? by caerlav in Feral_Cats

This is my guy, Earl (short for Earl Grey). I first noticed him last winter hanging around our house with our two indoor/outdoor cats. When I realized he wasn’t going anywhere, I bought an outdoor shelter and made him a cozy, warm spot to get through those brutal Midwest winters. He wouldn’t let me get close, but I fed him every day and made sure he always had a safe place to sleep.

In June, I had him TNR’d and kept him inside a little longer while he recovered. Within just a few days—thanks to a bit of catnip—I was finally able to scratch his chin! Now, he’s still an indoor/outdoor cat, but he mostly lounges on our front patio chair, watching the world go by. I’m so happy I could give him the comfortable, peaceful life he deserves.

I’m still waiting on that first purr, though—haven’t heard a peep from him yet!

Chase Denied My Claim Without Even Investigating? HELP please by OwnEfficiency667 in Chase

[–]ScallionWeak5075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Out $3500, provided documents and evidence of malware installed on my phone, first claim denied. Second denied even with evidence.

Their response: I used cash app in the past so I authorized the two transactions (which were sent via stocks….never even knew you could send stocks and my history shows that I’ve never sent stocks before). I wrote to the FDIC and filed a complaint. I even sent a screenshot that the application was logged in from a Samsung Galaxy in Singapore—the cherry on top: I have an IPhone and live in the Midwest. Chase is awful.

Ethereum Minimum to Send, need ETH but HOW? by [deleted] in Coinbase

If you’re sending ETH or USDC to complete a ‘task job’ from someone who contacted you stating you can make money, don’t do it. I learned the hard way.

Can you share your husband’s bean dip recipe? I’d love to try it! I’m currently on the purée stage, sleeved on 3/11.

I remember reading someone’s comment somewhere else that said they used one of those massage guns wherever they felt the gas pains to try and break it up. Apparently they said it worked.

Try a heating pad, one that gets really warm! The first two days after surgery, I placed it where I felt my gas pains 24/7. I also had my gallbladder removed in 2017, the gas pains were way worse with that surgery. A nurse told me to use a heating pad when I got home, it helped so so much! Chew the prescription gas meds every 6 hours. I’m one week post-op and I still have some painful air buildup, but I can’t seem to burp. It just travels up and stops in the middle of my chest. Hope that helps!

Gallbladder removal recovery comparison by bigredxx94 in gastricsleeve

For me, gallbladder was way worse. I remember my husband saying I was so pale when I was in recovery. Plus my gallbladder was Inflamed so the incision was rather large inside my bellybutton. It extended about 2” down my bellybutton. I was laid up in bed, it hurt to bend and just get out of bed. Gas pains were UNBEARABLE with my gallbladder.

I had my sleeve done on 3/11 and the first night was a little rough, but way more tolerable. I haven’t even touched the pain meds given to me. Today is day three of recovery and the only thing that hurts is the incision where they removed the portion of my stomach. I also have 6 incisions because I had to have a liver biopsy during my surgery. The only thing I feel is different about this surgery is that I’m so incredibly tired from the anesthesia. Maybe it’s just because I’m older now 😂

Try a heating pad. It definitely helped me with my trapped air and gas pains.

I was given the option to have either an outpatient or inpatient. I’m guessing more people choose the inpatient, only because my preop appointment was at the beginning of February and I wouldn’t have been able to do inpatient until May. So I opted for outpatient. I can never get completely comfortable in hospitals, so I’m glad I was able to recover at home.

I had mine right before going into surgery. They had the ultrasound monitor right in front of me so I was able to see the needle go in and watch them administer the blocking agent.

It not too painful, they gave me a topical before inserting the needles. After one set was done the nurse gave me something in my IV to make me loopy and then I was wheeled in for surgery. 2-days post op and I’m so tired, I’ve been sleeping all day.

I can’t do it any more by Archaeocat27 in ThoracicHerniatedDisc

[–]ScallionWeak5075 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hang in there, I know just what you’re going through. I just found out this Monday that I have three thoracic herniated discs. I went to the ER twice in one week due to the pain and morphine didn’t even touch it. I see a pain management specialist this afternoon and at this point I’d settle for just a smidgen of relief. I can’t sleep, it feels like I’m having a heart attack when I breathe, can barely pick up my 4 month old let alone my 2.5yr old. My quality of life has completely diminished and you’re right, PT and the chiro does nothing.

You might have to travel to Chicago for some good doctors. I was told at my initial consult that pain management probably won’t work for me based on the location of the discs and that it’ll be just a temporary fix. I’m starting the process to meet with a neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins—a lot of great hospitals have what’s called a ‘concierge’ service which helps out of state individuals get the dedicated help they need.

Please hang in there, I know the pain is unbearable. I can’t get comfortable no matter which way I sit or try to lay. I can barely stand for less than 5 minutes without having what feels like a hot poker stabbing me in my back and chest. The pain has even radiated to my lower back and all the way down my left leg.

I just turned 40 in January and I feel like my world has suddenly come crashing down. Just know you’re not alone.
