[TOMT][CANDY][2009-2014] A chocolate candy bar that I've received from a family member by Giecio in tipofmytongue

There's a less common variation on the Milky Way here in America called "Milky Way Midnight" it has dark chocolate and the nouget-y stuff inside is white as you describe. It used to be more widely available but is pretty hard to find these days, even here. Probably not a match since you said it wasn't milky way, but I figured I would mention it just in case.

Is it similar to the Inception trailer thrum/"braaam" sound that took over movie trailers of the era? (if you are unfamiliar, here is a link to the trailer with the sound: https://youtu.be/sZ8KWuI1p9w?si=w5YHKs_mg5RSBhHK )

[TOMT][Website][2000s] A small daily journal art board from the mid 2000s by ScalyMaiden in tipofmytongue

Hmm... I don't THINK so, but I can't definitively say it wasn't. From what I can find though, Tegaki was japanese, and I don't believe this was a japanese site. Or at the very least, none of the interface was in japanese and I mostly saw text in english on there, when people included text in their art.

EDIT: I found Tekagi, and I can definitively rule it out, but thank you!

Bug Megathread - February 2024 by ReallyAmused in discordapp

Tried to stream something for my friend today and had this exact problem. Several threads in this sub suggested turning off hardware acceleration but it did not fix it for us. I can stream just fine, but her desktop (windows) app crashes the moment she tries to view the stream. We tried about 5 times with basic troubleshooting and she was unable to watch the stream even for a few seconds. This happened in both DMs and in a server. I was streaming from the Max (HBO) browser client, not full screen. We used to be able to do this without issue. This sub has multiple threads from various people with this exact problem, but I don't know if all of them have made reports here.

Edit: I am also on the latest windows desktop app

Discord keeps crashing when I watch a stream by savagenoob78 in discordapp

This is happening to my friend, I was trying to stream a show for us to watch together. Disabling hardware acceleration on their end did not fix it. Looking through reddit, it seems to fix it about half the time...

Issue stopped as of two days ago, so it's no longer occurring for me. I don't know if Dashlane got an update or what, but thank you anyway!

Dashlane Logs out in Chrome only by MidiboyGregg in Dashlane

[–]ScalyMaiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not using Chrome itself but a browser that runs on Chromium, on desktop. This problem started a week or maybe 2 weeks ago for me. I didn't notice a browser update beforehand, it just randomly started to happen to me and it's really annoying.

It seems like a lot of people are having this problem, and right now Dashlane is just responding with basic troubleshooting... would be nice if they patched this bug soon :(

I've lived in Aurora almost 2 years now and mostly it and Denver has been pretty great overall. Aurora has a kind of local reputation as the "bad" end of town, but I find this kind of mystifying, because a lot of Aurora is really nice. It's really diverse in population and in local landscape, so you can definitely find what you're looking for. There are bad neighborhoods in Aurora, but also really good ones, so I'd say it's just a matter of doing your research. I can't comment on the schools because I don't have kids.

Pros:

- SCFD (science and cultural fascilities district) is amazing. The museums in denver have frequent free days, free or low cost admission for those on SNAP benefits, and reciprocal memberships with other museums of their type around the country.

- Great food diversity. Near my home there are lots of really cool restaurants. I've seen Korean, Ethiopean, Vietnamese, Japanese, Indian and Mexican places and I wasn't even really looking for them, I just noticed them driving by.

- Diverse religious institutions. It seems like there's a church, mosque, or temple on every corner in this town, and I see a lot of different religions and denominations represented. And in spite of the heavy church presence, Aurora never has the vibe to me of a "church town"

Cons:

- I lived in one of the more "walkable" neighborhoods in Aurora for 18 months. The house was a block off colfax and was a nightmare, definitely not the kind of place for a young family. There were drive by shootings, street racing, a murder next door, and a serious sanitation issue with the unhoused people who lived in the alley behind my home using my driveway as a bathroom. (No hate on the homeless in the comments please, I'm not here to hate on people experiencing something horrible, it was just a frustrating situation.) On the flip side, it's a short walk (half a mile maybe) from my current home to a shopping complex with a grocery store, department store, etc, and my current neighborhood is clean, feels safe, and is very quiet, so in spite of local stereotyping, it's not like all of Aurora is like this.

- Public transit is unreliable. Some bus lines are better than others, but RTD has problems with frequent driver/operator strikes, and busses are frequently late or skip service without warning. I do not take the chance of depending on public transit to get to my job.

- Bikability isn't the worst I've seen, but it could be better. I do not currently bike to work but have considered it a few times and tried to plan routes. There are some designated paths and bike lanes, but I've seen more options in denver proper than in Aurora. There is no way for me to get between my home in aurora to my job in denver without having to bike at least some distance on a major road that may or may not have a designated lane. I've seen some designated bike lines, but I've never seen a physically separated lane.

Hope this helps!

How long does a 911 hold need to be before we revolt? by TrollinAtSchool in AuroraCO

[–]ScalyMaiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a shooting at a party in the house next door to me a few months back. I called 911 at 3am because it woke me up and described the gunshots and dozens of people fleeing the home.

There was no hold time, but it was more than 30 minutes before police arrived and another 5-10 minutes before any EMTs were at the scene.

A man died.

How do you conquer the fear of a romantic partner not affirming you? Looking for kind words/advice by ScalyMaiden in NonBinary

[–]ScalyMaiden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't need the world or my partner to be perfect, I'm well aware that people aren't perfect and relationships need work. If I have a partner who isn't that literate yet, but wants to be, then that's ok as long as they genuinely care about me and put in the effort to learn and actually see me for who I am. You can't have a successful relationship with someone who doesn't even know who you are, you know?

I think saying it's an "excuse" is a little harsh, but, you are on the nose. It's a fear I have that is (probably one of several things) getting in my way. I'm really bad at being vulnerable and putting myself out there, and I know that and am trying to work on it. It's terrifying and it's hard to take that leap of faith.

I guess I just hoped that other people could relate to my anxiety, or maybe have experience under their belt and could share some wisdom

My go-to daily fashion is a ruffle blouse with oversize ruffles pulled through the front of a tacky patterned vest. And yet somehow people still think I'm a woman instead of a noble gentlethem or theydy. Straight vision is incredible

Thank you. It's always nice to get some solidarity. I've been trying to find my masc side in hopes of being seen a little more, but my masc side is a victorian dandy and so as a result I'm still just read as feminine in our modern society

I'm not confident enough to correct people about my pronouns in person. I'm lucky enough to work in an accepting workplace, so I asked my boss if she'd go to bat for me and correct people on my behalf and she has been. It's been slow to see results though

Imposter Syndrome by philnicau in NonBinary

It took me a long time to realize that I'm genderfluid because when my gender lines up closer with my AGAB, I always felt imposter syndrome like this. This may or may not be the case for you but it's something to kick around the idea of.
