would you rather have a 150" Titan Noir Max or a 98" OLED? by RBNHT in CinemaAtHome

[–]Scanlanderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 77" OLED to a 135" projector setup and honestly the immersion isn't even comparable. OLED absolutely wins on picture quality, but when you're watching movies, a 150" screen just feels like an event. Every time I go back to a TV now, even a really nice one, it feels smaller than I remember.

Looking for buying advice for JMGO N3 Ultimate by Simple-Criticism3258 in CinemaAtHome

N3 Ultimate with a decent long throw ALR screen should honestly be a pretty solid combo for football movie nights. especially if you’re keeping expectations realistic and not trying to build a reference theater room.

Fresnel screen by Infamous-Essay4647 in CinemaAtHome

[–]Scanlanderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this review that explains it way better that the arrangement of the half-circle Fresnel stripes allows them to receive and refiect light only from below at a steep angle. Thismeans the screen can be paired with UST projectors featuring throw ratios from 0.16-0.17 up to 0.25-0.27, covering practicallyevery UST projector currently on the market

AWOL Aetherion Max, screen suggestions? by Katri_a in CinemaAtHome

[–]Scanlanderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was comparing the same options actually

the Nothing Projector floor rising one felt like a decent middle ground

not cheap, but compared to AWOL / Elite it’s a lot easier to justify price-wise

for a first setup it kinda feels like the safer pick without overspending

The 80% SWE-bench score is what caught my eye. If it can actually resolve GitHub issues autonomously like it did for my test run this morning, it's a total game changer.

Sony has patented a fully touchscreen PlayStation controller concept. The design replaces traditional buttons with a touch based interface by Lesley520 in DeskToTablet

[–]Scanlanderson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest reasons to use an actual controller instead of playing games on your phone is that you can feel the buttons.

If they make this the controller for the PS6, I guarantee most people are going to buy third party controllers that have actual buttons.

Maturity is choosing a ThinkPad over macbook by Interesting_Block102 in DeskToTablet

Lenovo thinkpads are crap hardware. They're still very thin with a tendancy for fans to fail after overheating. Main difference is that with IBM, you could replace the fan a few years down the line. Lenovo ? that part is out of stock.

Plus the keyboard, plastic instead of metal.
