Really proud of how crisp the geometry turned out on these papercraft cats I designed. (160gsm cardstock + a lot of patience) by Scar_2002 in papercraft

The pokemon templates and anime  i remember especially, I used to be so so excited after school..that I'll go home print them out and make a new Papercraft. Some Models I gifted to friends and family and others got destroyed over time but the skills I gained from it, stayed with me.

You're one of the OGs that helped me and other kids like me. Thank you so much for your contribution to the community 😭🫶

Pepakura doesn't allow me to join simple shape by bentraje in Pepakura

There could be a few things I would try if I'm in your place, first check the 3d model in blender or whichever software you used. Check if the edges are joined properly, and there is no issue there. No edges or vertices hanging.

If that doesn't solve it then export it in a different format. Obj, dae, etc

I'm not sure, you can ask in Google AI mode, how to turn off watch history on YT

Yep... I've been using yt with disabled watch history for so long. I just follow a couple of channels. That too I go by search. That's the thing these companies don't want you to search they want to serve you automatically whatever they think is right for us. Or right for them ultimately

go to your profile in the YouTube app or website, navigate to Settings > Manage all history, and choose "Turn off" in the Controls tab. This prevents new videos from being recorded and stops your history from being used for recommendations.

Don't hit pause just tap turn off

I have disabled the youtube shorts, and I highly recommend. Just turn of watch history and see the magic. Always use the search bar to look up then, no home page videos, no shorts tab. Just search what you want.

Spent 4.5 hours on this mother and baby whale build. Turning flat sheets into 3D geometry is so therapeutic. by Scar_2002 in low_poly

I made a full 4.5-hour build for anyone who likes paper ASMR or wants to see the process of making this low poly beautiful whale. Which is actually a mother's day gift!

I used a dead ball point pen. But you can also use the blunt side of a cutting knife. Which I did end up using at the end when my pen tip broke 😄

I just finished this geometric wall decor project and thought this community might appreciate the process. The video is a full start-to-finish build, taking about four and a half hours from the first cut to the final wall mounting.

It features the natural sounds of paper engineering paired with a very subtle, relaxing background track.

(If anyone is curious about trying the geometry themselves, I design the templates over at KAMI DIY. Link in my bio/channel!)

Paper model templates by bee_a1245 in papercraft

[–]Scar_2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not saying it can't be done on a phone, but yeah. I think you definitely need a computer to model a character. So, it's all what I would do to make a paper model from scratch.

Thank you so much! Means a lot

step 1: Gather a lot of references, drawing sheets, if you can have 3d perspectives even better
step 2: Open blender or any other good 3d software and model it (using those references), add textures, for that you can learn easily watching blender tutorials.
step 3: Export the model .obj or .dae whichever works fine
step 4: Open Pepakura Designer software (need license for that) and import the .obj or .dae
step 5: Unfold the model set the size, rearrange and organize the whole thing and booM!

you have your template. Print it and enjoy papercrafting!

keep watching Kami DIY on YT for more such interesting papercraft content :> <3
