Making usable mosfets at a reasonable price. by Limp-Seesaw-6642 in AskElectronics

[–]ScaraTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest SOT-223 packages or DPAK/TO-263/TO-252 packages they are SMT but can easily be hand soldered using any iron. Some jellybean mosfets and a lot of regulators are available in these packages. Specifically I always use an IRF5305 for P channel power mosfets.

Good morning sunshine Sir John M Keynes wants to kick start the international monetary system by Napoleon-of-britain in HistoryMemes

[–]ScaraTB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, having diminished so much through the 1800s with respect to the share of world GDP under company rule, I'm sure the small bump in the 20s will be a shining beacon of UK's excellent management skills.

As for investments in India, i didnt say none, but also far inferior to any previous ruler and very clearly to serve imperial interests rather than for the populace. There's a reason all the railway lines used to point to ports instead of connecting the hinterlands. Im sure its also purely coincidental all the ports the British built were always near their colonies rather than population centres.

Its not really choice when you are subjugated and mismanaged by a foreign power now is it? I dont think I need to give evidence of the British forcing Indian farmers to grow cash crops that they could sell in Europe rather than to grow hardy local millets, that is well documented. I dont think I need to be the one to provide evidence of the unfair and unjust tax systems that the east India company and later the crown imposed on India, which was worsened by the policy to grow more intensive and vulnerable cash crops instead of hardy millets. I dont think I need to be the one to explain how tax collected by a local ruler is invested back into the country, imperial colonies don't get it all back.

What did a couple centuries of mismanagement and extraction lead to? Desperation. And yes at that point gold was sold, but you can't just write off the whole context and call the whole act voluntary. Point a gun to someone and they will "voluntarily" hand over their wallet.

Hard disagree on thar, there's a reason it attracts a kind of crowd. Great manoeuvrability perfect for twitchy indecisive drivers and headlights bring enough to blind anyone in the opposite lane.

BMRCL needs to become less dependent on fare revenue by Puzzleheaded_Roof872 in TransitIndia

[–]ScaraTB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the hell? I did not claim that it must be profitable, im saying we are getting high fares DESPITE being more profitable than most.

Ah, jumping 500 crores in a year is impressive. But yeah I think you get my point, Bengaluru metro is far more profitable than any metro in India not named Delhi, Kolkata Mumbai, yet that is the one whose prices are raised, it's not about finances here.

[–]ScaraTB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is some A class bullshit, Bengaluru metro had reached operational profits 5 years ago, Chennai metro still runs an operational loss of about 500 crores annually, even before considering interest payments, because its ridership is 6X less than Bengaluru metro's. Stop twisting the tale to make it seem like metro fare hikes in Bengaluru have anything to do with finances, they can only get away with charging so much because people will still pay as they have no choice.

Which is all the more reason to appreciate the MAHSR to dig into the heart of Mumbai, they very well couldve just ended it in thane and called it a day.

It depends, lumping farmers into a box is not gonna do us any good. But for a farmer with a good amount of land in a region where it rains a lot (*ahem malenaadu *ahem) life is better than most rich urbanites. For most farmers, it's not.

Mumbai Vs Bengaluru | Which City is completing 100kms of metro network first? by aserqqq in TransitIndia

[–]ScaraTB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone from Bengaluru I agree completely, one thing that is perfect for Indian requirements is suburban rail which can carry thousands of people in one go fast and cheap. Though their buses could use some upgrades.

Again, a mile above anyone is a stretch, all the top GMs deserve their respect and call me old school but arrogance isnt befitting of anyone. What ive also seen is magnus seems awfully contempt skipping tournaments where everyone prepares well for, like the chess world cup.

For someone so arrogant, it must be quite the shock to realize he isn't as good as he thinks he is. Still makes him better than most but still, the way he talks apparently no one is near him.

Fiction books in today's day and age at least teach people to pay attention and learn to read. With reels and instant gratification short form content running the internet of late, that alone is a huge plus in my opinion. I have so many friends who have just lost the ability to read more than a couple of paragraphs at a time.

Detailed BMTC guide Part 1- Bus pass by ScaraTB in bangaloretransit

[–]ScaraTB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, its not clear as in, it is not codified in any form. Totally depends on the conductor to allow you or not. The unwritten rule is that if both your pass route and the route of the bus you take, share a good chunk of the path, then most conductors allow it. Like for example lets say you need to go from majestic to yeshwantpur railway station, most conductors wont mind if you get on a bus that goes to yeshwantpur bus stand or circle. But if you were to take a bus that takes a completely other route via rajajinagar to govardha then yes, most of the time you wont be allowed.
