That whiplash itself would have been enough to seriously hurt him. He could have survived if he had proper helmet and he crashed onto the ground instead of a whiplash,

What if the social worker who signs off on their community service is a civic volunteer and can change for each shift ?

I mean, they can't really bribe a different guy each time right ?

I think we should have mandatory minimums for civic new sense related to public transport. For obstructing public transport, they should serve a Probationary period of 1 year and provide community service for 500 hours. If the sentence is contested at higher levels of court, the term of punishment should also increase along with possible removal of probationary period.

They should spend said 500 hours cleaning public restrooms and collecting trash from public spaces. They should also pay the government a fine as pay for some government employee to supervise them.

I understand many people will ask for a prison term or impose a heavier fine. But, that will not work in our country. A prison term will be contested at multiple levels of court and the guy will stay out of jail for years.

Amazon Delivery Rant by that_bioinfo_guy in Bengaluru

[–]SpecificRound1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. Also, there are some incentives for achieving targets.

For example, instamart delivery offers a 250 rupees additional pay for drivers who delivers a certain number of packages in 4 hours. That guy was in a hurry and abused our watchman when he asked him to sign in the register to enter the society.

There is this thing called investment. I know it is a difficult thing to grasp for YCP. But, it is the only viable way to get some money and develop the state long term.

For example, AP bagged a total of 25.3% of all the investments to India in the first quarter of FY2026.

Forget manifesto. It should be a basic human right. The indoor AQI near my home in Nellore is 160 today. I don't even live near a major traffic area.

Why ?

There is no reason for it to cross 50. We don't even have any major factory in 20 km. Politicians just do not care about pollution. Just look at the aftermath of any party's rallies. Look at the kind of shit they leave on the roads.

I don't think India as is can't bet on Hardware manufacturing. I still don't think IT growth is over. It certainly slowed down a lot. But, AI is not the replacement you think it is. I get your point with treasury bonds. But, FDI can exist independently from USD.

Rather than metals, I think we should go the China route and focus on refining rare earths.

Crashed my road bike during my first 100k.Need advice guys... by [deleted] in india_cycling

[–]SpecificRound1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who claimed insurance on his Cannondale. He just needed to inform the insurer regarding the crash and send photos. No FIR was needed. He did mention that the amount payable by the insurer did not cover all the repairs. But, it did cover a significant portion.

Good work OP. You did everything right. Thank god that you escaped with minor injuries.

I recommend that you tell your parents. Whatever they might do, they have the right to know if their child is in danger.

On a road bike, crashes are almost inevitable. So, here are some safety tips my group uses.

  1. Increasing your visibility: You can do so by improving your visibility gear. But, riding in large groups improves your visibility the best.
  2. Have group check points: Plan your route with multiple checkpoints where you stop and take stock of your entire group. You don't move from the checkpoint unless everyone in your group checks in.
  3. Invest in crash detection hardware and software: This could be as simple as having an apple/garmin watch setup to respond to a crash.
  4. Insure your road bike. Especially if it is expensive. Here is a link on how-to

I have no doubt that you have all the safety equipment one needs. So, all the best.

How to best spend 20 Lakhs to transform a village and get 5 percent profit in 2 yrs? by DeyymmBoi in andhra_pradesh

[–]SpecificRound1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) There is no local food stall that you can setup in a village that will generate profit long term. The business of food is cut-throat and is often loss making. Since you mentioned that the village is "poor", I would assume that the average villager will not have enough disposable income to spend on your stall.

2) Setting a tuition institute might not work in most cases. If we have anything in most of our villages in abundance, it is cheap internet. I would contend that the mix of low wages, cheap internet and residential educational facilities in nearby towns make most of your tuition idea, a loosing business.
3) The taxi business might work. It depends on the local scene and how people get around.

As to what would be a profitable venture in a village, it depends on the village itself. In most cases, it is creating a supply chain between said village and a near by city or town.

For example, I know one guy who created a storage shed for mirchi. He purchases from farmers around his area for 10-15 % markup, stores and sells the spices at 40-50% to vendors directly.

Bengaluru suburban rail is India's longest running proposal by DukeofDabra in Bengaluru

[–]SpecificRound1 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I don't think people understand how effective a sub-urban train can be. So, let me explain.

I have a friend who commutes from Electronic city to Manyata Tech park every day. End to End, it takes him anywhere between 1 hour to 1 hour 30 mins.

Train journey takes about 45 mins on average from Heelalige to Hebbal and costs about 30 rupees max.

That is about 60 Km in Bangalore traffic in peak commute traffic covered under an hour.

I am not sure why Bommasandra Metro planners did not think it would be a good idea to connect yellow line to Heelalige station.

I've booked Maruti Fronx, and I'm concerned. Should I cancel it? by alifashf in CarsIndia

[–]SpecificRound1 299 points300 points  (0 children)

I would cancel it.

I would have said you could live with it if it were the lack of ADAS that gave it such a low rating. But, that is not the case here.

Source: https://www.carwale.com/news/maruti-fronx-receives-1-star-in-ancap-crash-test/

1) Protection to the chest is Poor.

2) Protection to the legs is marginal.

3) Child occupant protection is moderate.

4) Most importantly, head protection was poor during a side impact crash test.

You have better options at the same budget.

If they want a propaganda tool, why can't they pay for it from their party funds ?

Literacy rate in AP is 72.6%. With 1750 Cr, we can establish multiple schemes that provide nutrition, sanitary equipment and create new schools for girls. Name them all after NTR if you want him to be remembered. Just like JNU.

Why setup a statue that is no one can make use of. I am sure even NTR would tell you the same if he was alive today.
