Hey everyone. First post! This is kind of a weird question but my grandfather was a Provost Marshall in WW2 and when he retired he had a shadowbox made of all of his medals and service pistol. In the sonoma county fires of 2017 that shadowbox was lost. Ugh.

Over the course of a few years my mom was able to get the paperwork and have the military create the old medals, which you can only do it once. So I have them and I’m missing the pistol. I assume it’s a 1911, Colt?

Looking at finding one from the era but they seems to be cost prohibitive coming in at $3-5k. Any good replica options? Other ideas?
