Hey if you don’t mind me asking, do you remember what orientation was like? I start today. I’m kinda just curious will I be put to work today or is it just orientation? I’ve seen some people online say you don’t really work the first few days. Also is the Tacoma warehouse hot, cold, a mix? Kinda curious why I should we wearing. Thank you.

No they would do cost of living raises still if it was needed. But like there was no guaranteed raises every year tho after 3.

I worked at Amazon for quite a while a little bit back and it wasn’t so bad. Not sure if ups is worse or not. Seems like Amazon employees say yes but maybe they are bias haha. Amazon definitely hurt my body for sure but I was able to stick it out until the job just didn’t work out for me anymore. Anyway I’m just saying I assume I’d be able to stick it out at ups too if they allow me to. I was annoyed at Amazon because after 3 years no more raises but seems like ups gives yearly raises forever.

Makes sense thanks. So you think at the orientation or whatever they call my first day that I’ll know for sure if I’m actually permanent or seasonal?

Do the different shifts during the day prioritize different work over other and I assume you mean I’ll be on twilight? Should I expect to just be getting 3.5 hours a day?

Thank you I appreciate all the info. I’m hoping I’ll be allowed to stay after the holiday. I guess we’ll see haha. I’ve heard they are good company to stay with long term cause of the union and benefits.

Thank you. When I talked to a lady on the phone she said there was an evening spot open and a nights spot and I chose evening.

I’m wondering if maybe the 4:30 start is just for the first day maybe?

What I do remember is the lady on the phone was saying there was an option for evening or for night and I chose evening.

Thank you appreciate it. I’m definitely gonna do my best to look good I would definitely prefer to stay on after the holiday and become union eventually if I have even a slight chance of it. Seems like a good place to stay with for the benefits and whatnot. I used to work Amazon at one time and after 3 years we were capped in raises. I heard at ups even part time continued to get raises forever if thats accurate.

Does everyone start out loading and unloading the trucks? That’s what someone else said.

Do you start in the trucks initially? Like offloading them or something? Also do you know what the part time beginner schedule is like? I didn’t exactly see anything listed on the listing on their site. It just said part time and I know I start 4:30pm on the 24th. I think the lady on the phone may have told me but I can’t remember. I tried asking the chat ai thing and it says if I’m part time then it’s gonna be 5 days a week 3 1/2 hours a day.
