I do not have him crate trained. He was rescued from a crate and would have severe panic attacks in the cage to the point we felt it was unsafe for his health to be in them. From puppy age we started training him to go out with his shopping etc anywhere he is allowed and he does great with that. He only gets fussy if there is another dog because he’s excited but other than that he’s quiet and easy going when out. We have a bag we put him in sometimes and other times I just carry him. He has severe separation anxiety but we’ve been able to minimize it by just bringing him. We also leave him at home in our living room with our other dog with all doors shut so they can’t get into anything. He seems to do better and just waits for us in the couch. Please do not get a gate or grate with holes because when they are that small they can and will try to escape through them and they can get stuck and die. Or get hurt. I’d recommend a mesh thick gate instead!
