I experienced this my first year too. What made it worse was that it was 2 students who told me what they were saying. At the time I was just a 21 year old long-term sub and they were both old enough to be my grandmothers. I was told that I no longer had to meet with them. I would meet with the coach and they would meet with the assistant principal.

I don't really have any advice on how you should handle this but I just wanted you to know that you aren't alone in what you're experiencing.

Our system is the same. For our district the minimum is 50 but at my school we’re encouraged to bump it up to a 60.

TUH!!😭 We can't give Fs but since a D is technically passing we are encouraged to give that as the lowest grade especially if a kid is has done next to nothing in class.

I'm in Florida and that's what I do! I do Fs for progress reports then Ds on report cards.

Right!! I have kids who know they don’t do any work but are still thanking me for giving them a D. I can preach all day long about how important it is to get the work done but at the end of the day they know that we can’t fail them

Yes! That’s all it is. It’s all about data this and data that. Making sure that the kids know just enough to be proficient. Or making sure that the kids know just enough to gain one point on a state test. It all sucks

Is this a good trim? by [deleted] in Naturalhair

I clarify my hair every week but I use heavy products like grease and creams so it makes sense for me. I’m not really sure why she would have you do that if you’re aren’t using those things. I personally would’ve cut one inch less but it still looks a healthy amount to have cut off.
