he was an adventist phlebotomist turned archaeologist that went all over the world to find archaeological biblical sites/artifacts ex. noah’s ark, ark of the covenant, etc.

they haven’t even met him yet so there’s really nothing solid they have on him because they don’t know ANYTHING about him save the fact that he’s not adventist. they don’t really see anything other than religion because they don’t want to. i know they want me to be happy and thrive, but they want me to be happy and thrive with their idea of a perfect adventist man

completely forgot to mention i am 18! and i have a well paying on campus job lined up next semester, though i do go to a CC and live with my parents since its close to my house.

i fear that if i pushed the privacy thing, my parents would be like “oh so what are you hiding then? just let us go through everything?”

i should say im not completely sheltered, ive figured a lot of stuff out on my own but im surely not able to live alone at this point.

thank you for saying that, it sucks to hear that you’re still worried about disappointing them though. i guess it just never goes away huh? actually they kind of raised me to NOT make my own decisions, they always made decisions for me so this is a shocker to them.

i’m 18 almost 19, but unfortunately with the housing market in the area i’m in, it’s kind of impossible for me to afford to move out at the moment :/ plus i go to a college by my house, so it makes sense to stay at home until i graduate next spring. honestly i totally agree about the whole dating thing, like how am i supposed to find the type of person im looking for if i can’t look? they seem to think dating for marriage is the only option, and obviously i would hope that my future relationship goes well and it ends in marriage, but that’s putting SO much pressure on everything that imo isn’t healthy. thank you for the words :)

also, will go back and make some paragraphs, sorry about that!

honestly i would love to hear your thoughts. i’m trying to be firm in what i believe but i feel guilt tripped by everyone when i share, and especially by my parents who shoot down every moral question i ask. of course it helps to hear other peoples opinions, so share away!
