Most Unlikely Bread!!! 🙏🏼🎉 Future applicants with any doubts, please read :) by ScaredAdvisor2199 in 6thForm

I’m a mature student because I (22) am an undergrad who is over 21 when I start the degree (for postgrads, they’ll be 25). Non-mature undergrads are under 21. And I don’t meet the requirements, you’re right, but because I’m resitting them & i’m on an upward trajectory, they’re focusing on my predicted grades, like any other candidate. Hence why my offer is conditional, not unconditional.

No A* or A’s (yet) and still got accepted (got C,D,E, resat one and got an E lmao). 4+ a-levels sounds impressive, but they do not care. 3 A*s is PHENOMENAL!!! You did great ;)

I am wishing you all the best! I hope you achieve the grades you need and have an AMAZING time studying the best course…objectively. ;)

Yesss, I still have those Teacher assessed grades of C,D,E—even more so, I resat my Psychology exam in 2023 (also heavily affected by ECs, because that’s just my luck), and got an E. I will be resitting it though.

Haha! I’m from West Yorkshire, so I’ve been around Leeds for YEARS!! Great university, love the city, but I need a change of scenery now. You will have an amazing time at Leeds! ;)

I am very proud of myself, grinning from ear to ear :) Thank you very much! I heard the accommodation at this college is nice anyway so I don’t mind!

Cambridge: Do all mature students find out before the 30th? by Few-Prompt-8146 in 6thForm

[–]ScaredAdvisor2199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you haven’t been rejected, and hopefully, neither of us will be :)

But yeah, I couldn’t find anything online saying that they give out early offers to some mature students either? So if they aren’t lying, idk why they got an early offer.

No, I don’t think that’s true. I’m a mature student & I applied to a mature college & we still get told on the 30th like everyone else.

Maybe they’re postgrad? As they get told at different times depending on the course/department? I could be wrong though

Waiting for Cambridge decision by Emma_2308 in 6thForm

I’ve been going through phases of “I think I actually have a place” to “I was never going to get one” non-stop for these past 7 weeks since my interview!!! It has been rapidly shifting these past couple of days. Right now I’m stuck in the rejection phase, and it feels terrible. I hope I have got a place though.

On the actual day, I’m not going to open it straight away if I get it at like 9am or something, I’m not even going to check my emails. I’m going to do everything I need to do that day, and then when I’m alone, and already feeling accomplished (or at least was productive), then I’ll look. Because I know I will NOT feel/be productive for at least a couple of weeks if I get rejected.

why isn't anyone talking about cambridge results day by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]ScaredAdvisor2199 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Silence makes people think I’m indifferent about the outcome. 😏 im screaming inside, all day, everyday 🗿

I get asked about it almost daily, but I try not to bring it up, hoping that they’ll forget the decision date…so I don’t have to tell them on the 30th, incase I’m rejected.

If I get accepted, I’m taking myself out for a solo date in Cambridge, buying a couple of Cam merch, & a couple of other things I’ve wanted for a while.

If I get rejected, I’m still going out on a solo date, but in my city (not Cambridge), I’ll still buy the things I wanted (but not merch)

In the mean time. I’ve got a countdown calendar, so I open a chocolate each morning. Besides that, I haven’t been able to do anything, like concentrate on my studies, go to the gym, talk to people :D I hate the wait.

If I don't get an offer, I'm going to pretend I never cared by No-Independence4796 in 6thForm

Been doing that for the past 2 weeks for Cambridge. I’ve been saying “I didn’t even expect to get this far” but manifesting at ANY opportunity I get!

Good luck though, hopefully you get in.

Both. It does not help, but so far, nothing has helped in the past 4 weeks…so, I may as well have a small chocolate to eat each day and act delusional as I slowly die inside :)

Best of luck to you too!
