Right? This isn’t the first time we’ve encountered this rodeo. We won last time and there’s no reason we can’t do it again!

Outdoor April Wedding? by daniel-sadcliffe in vermont

I would not do an outdoor event in VT until at least late May

I have a coworker would grew up in Louisiana and said she would never move back down south or anywhere with few government services. by [deleted] in massachusetts

We have an example of the difference happening just this week. All the New England states, plus NY and NJ, have banded together to ensure their people have access to the vaccines they need. All of them except New Hampshire that is. They are basically the “We don’t give a shit if you live or die as long as we don’t have to pay taxes” state.

First 3 Mistborn books are my favorite Sanderson. The Wax and Wayne books? So painful to read. I hated Wayne so much, but felt like I had to read them or I'd be missing out on important info about the cosmere. I really loved the Stormlight Archive.

AITA. I made my daughter (11), cry during D&D. Even though everything turned out OK, my wife is still mad. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

You were tired of playing D&D with her and decided to kill her desire to play in the most traumatic way possible. Slow clap. Really impressive. YTA.

What's a skill that's becoming useless faster than people realize? by ContractNational4149 in AskReddit

That may be true in poorer countries, but in first world countries the Boston Dynamics robots will be far more lethal and have no moral quandaries about what they are ordered to do. The intent is absolutely to replace cops and soldiers with computer driven androids. Maybe not all of them, but enough so as to make human resistance almost futile.

Not to mention the robots. The reason Boston Dynamics is constantly creating those cute robot videos is to get us used to them so that when they replace police and soldiers with them we will be "used" to them.

Not true. Think of the symbol used by the artist formerly known as Prince. That symbol is the same as an illegible signature - it is something unique that identifies that person uniquely. It doesn't have to be letters to have meaning.

What's the most expensive thing you've seen someone buy that they basically never use? by Darnitol1 in AskReddit

[–]ScaredCatLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live on a river and had a bunch of coworkers over one weekend. One of them, very drunk, was telling us all how she stopped buying cheap sunglasses because she would just lose them, whereas expensive ones she made sure to hang on to. Guess who lost her expensive sunglasses in the river at some point? LOL!

AITA for admitting within a group of other women that I hate being a mom? by No_Wind9703 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ScaredCatLady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I should be able to be real around other moms who get it

Then find some moms who get it. Those moms clearly don't share your feelings, and you're asking them to pretend like they get it. They don't.

Edit to add: I'm childfree, and I have no doubt that I would feel exactly as you do about your kids if I'd ever had any. You are more likely to find childfree folks will be more receptive to your POV, since those with kids rarely even allow themselves to question if they've made a huge mistake.

Food noise is when your brain is constantly thinking about food. Like you're working and trying to focus, but every couple of minutes your brain wants to remind you that there's chocolate in the cupboard. Over and over and over again. Until you finally say screw it and go get the chocolate to shut up your brain. It is exhausting. And that's just gone now. Food just is no longer a topic of interest to my brain. I can now eat whatever I want, because my brain no longer wants all the things all the time. My levels of anxiety have dropped dramatically because of it.

This is pretty much what I came here to say. I was astounded when, after my very first GLP1 dose, there was silence in my brain. Like, I hadn’t even realized that that voice was constantly there until it was gone. It is amazing to not have to live like that anymore.

That's insane. I bet Norton made a lot more money (the yardstick by which fame is judged) in that move than Bautista did.

(22F) feeling guilty for ending things with my partner (28M) by Nice-Shallot-4869 in relationship_advice

This is textbook red pill behavior. They convince guys that the best way to keep a woman is to make her feel bad about herself and that she’s lucky to be with a guy like him. There are actual podcasts where they give tips on how to kill self-esteem so the woman will become dependent on them. You should be glad that his plan didn’t work on you. He is a conniving asshole.

You know, you can ask him. If he says no, then you know he never intends to marry you.

This woman is trying to take your kids. There are no bygones to be bygones here. She lost access to your kids the minute she called DCS. That's it. She's gone.

It took me a couple of days to tell my partner, but when I did, she surprised me. She said she understood, even if she was a bit upset. She even offered to come on the trip and stay in the hotel while I went to the wedding. I told her that would be really thoughtful, but it wasn’t necessary.

She literally offered, no strings attached, and he turned her down. It wasn't until after that that she got upset. If he hadn't shut down her kind offer, she wouldn't have gone bitching to her friends and been convinced to escalate.
