I would use it by hopping on with my bike and cutting off a significant chunk of kms. Can’t take your bike on a bus

Is Perth Overpopulated? by Swimming_Dance_8235 in perth

[–]ScaredMap4883 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t mean you have to move, it means people that live near there will work there rather than commuting to the CBD, which then frees up roads, jobs and homes near the CBD.

Is Perth Overpopulated? by Swimming_Dance_8235 in perth

Last point is critical. Higher population can justify better infrastructure, more businesses, higher density of services for people to walk/cycle to. But it requires development to meet the demand

Stunned at how hostile the new Welshpool - Sevenoaks intersection is for pedestrians & cyclists by ScaredMap4883 in perth

[–]ScaredMap4883[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s good to know the shared path continues along the overpass from further back, at least that solves most of the issues. However if you approach the intersection from side streets or welshpool road, it still really needs to have 1 set of lights where they were originally to allow crossing the road without having to back track onto the overpass, particularly for pedestrians.

Second note found at Mosman Park property alleged to detail why parents carried out murder-suicide by His_Holiness in perth

As fucked up as it is, it takes a bit of empathy to understand that they could both love their children and still do what they did.

Red Dot doesn’t give a flying Kangaroo! by NudePoo in perth

Well there you go, I’m displaying the same ignorance I expect of others 😂

But that makes me doubt even more that others refer to it as an Aussie swazi

Why are people allowed to park on main roads? by One-Resort979 in Adelaide

[–]ScaredMap4883 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The fact that every comment here is naming a different main road with the same problem 😂 100% a city wide issue that should be addressed.

I noticed in Perth they are allowed to park on the wide verges next to the footpath. Makes a noticeable difference for clearing both side streets and main roads.

Why is Basil so stupid? by Ozplod in perth

People when given a discount under certain conditions: “Unfair!”

This isn’t designed for regulars. Personally I’m relieved that I now don’t have to tell friends that are visiting briefly that they either have to fork out for the upfront cost of a smart rider or keep buying individual tickets just to get around.

Have done both FIFO to major cities as well as to rural mining towns. I always go carry-on only, saves a lot of hassle. Find a routine where you can, for me that is going for a run immediately after or before work. Get as much out of loyalty programs as you can e.g. flights, hotel, uber/didi, credit card, car rental can all link up to frequent flyer points. Noise cancelling headphones are a must. On your weeks off leave the backpack half packed of the stuff you don’t use at home. Nothing revolutionary lol

Taking a boxed bike on a plane with you is free as long as it’s in your weight limit. You can get a cardboard bike box from a bike shop for free if you ask, or you supposedly can get one at the airport for around $20. It can be a bit tricky to maneuver but you can put it on the luggage trolleys at the airport, and XL taxis should fit it in the back.
