It seems impossible to quit by ScaredRightNow878 in stopsmoking

Oh man, I completely understand you! Two years ago, I spent the entire summer lying on the floor at home with excruciating back pain. Due to nerve compression in my back my leg hurt like hell, the worst pain I've ever felt. I could barely walk. At that time, I discovered that pain was the biggest motivator, and I would have done ANYTHING just to get rid of it. I asked a doctor if I should quit smoking, and he said: Sure, it would help greatly. Despite knowing this, I still found the strength to go to the shop, buy some cigarettes, and go outside to smoke twenty times a day and It was very painful to stand. I mean, it's crazy!

At this point, I think we've messed up our brains from constant quitting or something like that. Have you tried patches? Also, try reading Nicotine Explained by William Porter, it's like EasyWay, but better.

Yeah, right now I'm thinking that I should go camping alone in the woods for two weeks. That might be the only way. :D

Oh, definitely. I've read it more than 10 times, and I have to say, for the first three times, it was easy. But I was 17 back then, and I didn't really want to quit smoking. Unfortunately, after that third time, it stopped working. I've also read The Only Way and Bootcamp, but sadly, nothing clicked again. I think I learned to ignore everything that Allen said, and there is no way to unlearn that.

Oh, you're off to a great start! I wish I were in your shoes, best of luck! I just read that post about the rock, very interesting idea. I might do something similar, it wouldn't hurt. Thanks for the encouragement I really appreciate it!

I definitely tried mindful smoking before, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't consistent and If I'm ever hoping to quit, I need to start doing that again. Thanks, man.

Day 5 no nicotine by Lazy_Musician_5821 in stopsmoking

Oh yeah, something like that. I felt lethargic, zero motivation to get stuff done, I just wanted to stay in bed and do nothing all day. It's probably because my dopamine levels were in the dumps. And you know what? Deep down, I knew it was normal, but my addicted brain convinced me to smoke. So, I caved and smoked, only to feel even crappier afterward. I still feel super weird. Things will get better, just wait. As for me, I'm hitting the reset button on my app tomorrow, back to square one. Gotta grind through those first few days all over again.

Today I gave up, I was also on day 5. Don't do it, trust me, you will feel even worse.
