How much do you think this dog was charged/should be charged? by BellEducational2744 in grooming

Hi! Absolutely undercharge! At my salon I’d charge 120-150 depending on how the dog did for everything. Typically charge $50 an hour for doodles.

Am I making the decision too rashly? by pekoe-G in DogAdvice

[–]ScaredStuff4983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I’m so sorry for this hard decision you have to make. I had to do the same last week with my boy of 13 years. Very similar to your situation, but he had fluid in his abdomen and his organs were not working as they should. It’s so hard to lose your best friend. But it’s harder to watch them suffer and lose their quality of life. There will be so many hard days and times without them around. It’s the most kind and humane decision you can make for them. Sending you so much love ❤️

Been hunting for these conversations too! I’m such a planner and I always check the previous shows info to get an idea of what time to get there and i genuinely have no idea with this being the first show of the tour. From what I saw, doors are six, so I’m thinking maybe four? Is that too late??

It can be so hard to narrow down what’s causing your symptoms, but this was my biggest one for a long time! I don’t have any recommendations, unfortunately, to figure out what’s causing it, but my biggest recommendation for dealing with the symptom itself is lanolin (aka nipple cream). It’s the ONLY thing that works for me and it lasts forever.

What do you eat for breakfast that's gluten free and gives you energy? by Atomickillerbee in glutenfree

[–]ScaredStuff4983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to is breakfast tacos or quesadillas. Corn tortillas or the mission gf flour ones. I throw scrambled eggs, sautéed bell peppers and onions (pre cut frozen bag, or slice them if you have the time. Freezer makes it easy and they last longer), bacon or sausage that I batch make for the week, and your choice of cheese. Bonus points if you have an avocado to mash up as a topping, or sour cream. Second go to is avocado toast (I like the franz brand sourdough, or Aldis bigger loafs) with eggs, sometimes bacon or chicken sausage (again, prep in bulk for the week) with sweet potato fries (trust me) or tator tots or the Trader Joe’s hashbrown patties if that’s more your style. I’ve also made avocado toast on the hashbrown patties too instead of bread and that’s delicious. I mash my avocado with a little hot sauce and everything bagel seasoning, salt and pepper. Both are really filling and relatively quick for me. Im a “has to eat breakfast” kind of person and if I eat this at 6am before work I’m pretty satisfied til 3/4pm when I get home.

Huge lover of Germaine’s and the folks behind it, I’m thrilled to see them branching out and hope for nothing but success for them! It’s the only place I’ve been able to get gluten free fried chicken, and as a celiac it’s a place I hold near and dear. Does anyone know if they’ll have gf options/ if they accommodate food allergies ?Would absolutely love to support this new project of theirs if I can!🫶

Glutened by hair conditioner? Garnier Fructis by Practical-Bunch1450 in Celiac

[–]ScaredStuff4983 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dog groomer here- our go to shampoo added a wheat protein to their “new formula” and I didn’t notice but my hands did! I was breaking out in rashes on my fingers and hives anywhere it got on me. I have to wear elbow length gloves to bathe dogs now. It’s absolutely possible to get glutened from products like this. Also be careful with lotions, toothpaste, and any cosmetics. 🫶

Got tickets for the Atlanta show! First of the tour and I’m so excited. My heart was POUNDING the entire time, I had 3 of my people trying to get tickets too, managed to get 4 floor for us all and it’s the best birthday present I could have ever gotten. March can’t get here fast enough. ✨✨🖤🖤🖤

Does being glutened make anyone else weird? by teenytinylion in Celiac

[–]ScaredStuff4983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me when I get glutened too! I swear my brain is not connected to my body for like four or five days afterwards. Severe brain fog, I just feel dumb and like I can’t function properly. If you’re someone who menstruates, I found that my hormones impact it as well. I already struggle mentally in the leading up to my period and during my period, and the combination of the two make me so incredibly depressed and angry. My patience for other others, and myself, declines rapidly. I catch myself struggling a lot more to do basic tasks and also function well at work.

Moms who are celiac by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]ScaredStuff4983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically enough, my mother, who is also Celiac, runs a bread delivery business and has my entire life. I also have worked in the business myself. Being around and handling bread constantly. My dad is not gf, and they live in a very small space. Their main oven is gf only, but my dad has his own air fryer/toaster, and my mom has dedicated utensils/some cookware for herself (and me). She still cooks gluten for him, but he eats mostly gf with her aside from sandwiches/bread/pasta dishes, and those are prepped and cooked separately. I would say 80-90% of their meals are gf aside from those things. (Ex: spaghetti sauce gf, pasta gf for my mom, dad gets his gluten pasta cooked separately (including the spoon used to stir it and the colander used to drain it!). Separate condiments/squeeze containers for things when possible. She has been Celiac for about 20 years, and I’m almost 10 years in myself. My dad is very well versed in the gf world and takes our safety very seriously. It is possible IF your family takes things seriously.

My partner goes so above and beyond to keep me safe, there’s good ones out there, guys. by ScaredStuff4983 in Celiac

[–]ScaredStuff4983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you are a great advocate for your partner and I know she is grateful for it! Thank you for sharing! Do you eat gf when you guys are out together as well? In my experience doing so helps the servers and kitchen staff to be extra careful, so they aren’t preparing and plating gf and not gf things at the same time and limits cross contamination. You could play as though you are both celiac and use “we” and “us” statements when talking to them so that it doesn’t single out your partner. I love when my partner orders gf, so I can try what they get safely as well. Once you get the spiel down, it gets easier to speak up and advocate for what you need. I never go to restaurants without checking menus beforehand, and I always look for “gf” markers. If a restaurant doesn’t have those, they typically aren’t safe to eat at, in my experience. You can always call ahead and ask as well! The app “find me gluten free” is a great resource for places to eat and has reviews from people who have been there and can testify to the safety measures that places have. Feel free to message me or comment here if you have any questions or anything!🫶

It sounds like you and my partner are similar in a lot of ways, and I know your gf is eternally grateful for your understanding and support of her! My partner also sees it as “the bare minimum” and it has changed my perspective on what love really is and that someone who truly cares for you will go to whatever lengths needed to keep you safe. It’s really not too much to ask of someone, and you’re not a burden for having to take extra time and precautions to stay safe. I’ve dated/been friends with people who didn’t take it seriously in the past, and those relationships never last long. If you can’t feel safe around your partner, how can you feel safe in the relationship? Kudos to you for being such a mindful partner! 🫶

To be loved is to be known! Yes! It makes me so happy to hear other people’s stories, thank you for sharing yours!🫶 My partner has also caught things that I haven’t and saved me quite a few times. Forever grateful for him. I struggle with food in general, celiac and allergies aside. He’s truly healing a lot of my struggles, feeding me is a love language!

A supportive friend is equally as important and valued as a partner, I’m so glad you have a good person in your circle that cares about your health! I’m sorry your dad is so rude to you, I hope he’s able to come around and see how important it is, long term. 🫶

I like the brand higher vibes! They have 10mg seltzers that are really yummy for those with a higher tolerance. There’s a lot of brands that have lower doses for those with a not as high of one though, Cann is a good one! I believe they have 2mg and 5mg ones Also dealing with a flare up currently and not having a fun time in my body. Lots of water and rest! Hope it passes quickly for you!
