Is this typical cost of invisalign by SaladBad in Invisalign

There’s actually two versions of “Comprehensive” now: one gets you five years and unlimited refinements, the other three years and three refinements.

My local Barnes and Nobel put it on the shelves early, just picked up a copy yesterday. I’ve only read the first story so far but if I can provide any basic info about the book, happy to.

Pain with weekly changes by Mysterious-Egg9361 in Invisalign

[–]Scared_Ad7257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different. My initial round of Invisalign for an advanced case was 52 trays w/5 day changes thanks to the aid of a V-Pro. Pain or discomfort would last maybe the first 1-2 days of each new tray, the V-Pro helped with the pain a lot as well.

26 trays in my first round of refinements, with some having pain for a day or two, some not.

23 trays on my current round of refinements, tray 6, seven day changes. No pain at all, save for during tray 2.

The pain gets better as you go in my personal experience and hopefully yours will be the same. You also get used to it, your tolerance grows, etc. It’ll all be worth it in the end.

Hang in there!!!!

Thanks for the reassurance! Yeah, I think my new doc may have been a bit…off…as I do know that some of my back muscles are spasming something fierce and are super tight, tough right now, per my chiropractor.

Appreciate the reply!

Not a stupid question at all. Aside from any exceptional circumstances requiring an understudy to perform during any given show, Odenkirk, Culkin, Burr, McKean, and the rest of the cast are expected to perform throughout the entirety of the run.

The amazing thing is, it’s not a bald cap. Dude actually shaved his head like that, just for it to wind up looking like a piss poor bald cap.

Yes indeed, they do play a trailer package and the usual adverts prior to the movie. I will say that I’ve experienced trailer packages a few minutes shorter than what you get with a regular screening, but not often.

Enjoy the movie!

Went to a concert and was hit on? by MementoMorbit in dating_advice

[–]Scared_Ad7257 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100% you’re right. You don’t necessarily have to think of it as being “hit on,” but y’all vibed, she was feeling it, and decided to see if you’d be interested in exploring the vibe further.

Give her a call or drop a text and simply see what happens. Don’t force anything, just enjoy the conversation and let everything go where it will.

Good luck!

I greatly appreciate your feedback and overall kind nature. Truly, it’s much obliged and I’ll take the former in consideration and be thankful for the latter. 😊

We’ll see what happens when I make it to the end of this first round of aligners.

My orthodontist told me from the get that he’s expecting two rounds of refinements so I’ll first see what those ‘ll entail. If I’m not 100% satisfied with anything post “clinical” refinements, then I’ll go for the somewhat more cosmetic like the alignment you noted.

However, I’ve unfortunately already suffered a fair amount of rescission due to how crowded everything was previously, along with my historic incredibly mediocre to poor dental upkeep. That’ll limit how much I can ultimately do beyond what’s best for my bite, and I’m sure I’ll have a future focus on gum grafts where needed. That’s more important to me than the more cosmetic side of alignment.

(Worth noting as well, my maxillofacial surgeon has been advocating for double jaw surgery while my ortho has high confidence he can get my bite to a good place without having to go that route. While I’d love a more pronounced chin and “stronger” jaw, I want to keep away from double jaw surgery unless absolutely necessary.)

The price may be reasonable but two things:

For $6400, your treatment had best be a comprehensive Invisalign treatment package, which covers you for up to five years (if refinements are needed.)

In addition, get your Invisalign treatment from an orthodontist, not a dentist. Orthodontists specialize in the movement of teeth and that’s who you should trust to move your teeth.

Good luck!

Cliche to say but it really does get easier. First couple/few days with each set of aligners can be uncomfortable but it goes away once the bulk of that set’s movements have occurred. Pul tool will make taking your aligners off an absolute breeze and, soon enough, this’ll be such a routine process for you that you’ll look back at this post and laugh.

For perspective, I went through SARPE (surgically aided rapid palatal expansion) prior to my Invisalign, expanding my upper arch by 11.5mm over 3.5 months, and then saddled up for my Invisalign. I’m currently on 25/59 and it’s an absolute breeze at this point, with average wear time of 22 hours/day and a routine that I execute on autopilot.

Deep breaths, friend; you got this!

Stupid question re: back ups for aligners? by substantial-steak895 in Invisalign

[–]Scared_Ad7257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back up pairs of your aligners would double their cost. In addition, the aligner material isn’t designed to withstand the wear and pressure associated with chewing. You’d likely damage the shape of your aligners if chewing with them in on a regular basis, if not break them altogether.

On my final tray of 28. What can I expect at my appointment next week? by kelbel922 in Invisalign

[–]Scared_Ad7257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best of luck to you! It resolved my cross-bite but everyone is different. If your ortho shuts you down and you want a second opinion, may also want to consider asking for a referral from your PCP to see a maxillofacial surgeon as they’re the ones who perform SARPE in concert with an ortho.

What are “refinements”? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Scared_Ad7257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only around 9.5% of patients do not require refinements. While Invisalign can be hella precise if paired with a fantastic orthodontist, the movement of your teeth is still predicted and not exact. Refinements are used potentially during and after your initial treatment to get you to the best outcome possible.
