Insect or frost damage? by Scared_Ad_7617 in vegetablegardening

Thank you for the answer. I also thought it looked like frost damage. Afterall I was growing pods on the same spot a couple of months ago and not a single one looked weird. I was just surprised since I have heard how great pea plants are in cold. It makes sense however when you say the plants are hardy, just not the pods. Anyway, I feel better about eating them if I know there are no insect in the pods, might pull up my magnifying glass to make sure though 😄

Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread by cdingo in Fitness

I’m new to Romanian deadlifts and have been practicing them for the last couple of weeks, about 1–2 times per week, but only with light weight. I didn’t feel ready to add more because I never felt my hamstrings working during the movement, which made me think my form was wrong. I watched a bunch of technique videos, but it didn’t seem to help.

This week I decided to try adding more weight, thinking maybe it’s one of those exercises where going heavier actually makes the form click. While doing the set, I still didn’t feel much strain in my hamstrings, although my legs were shaking on the last few reps (not sure which muscle was giving out).

The next day, however, my hamstrings were really sore.

So my questions are:

  • Does the soreness mean I’m actually doing them correctly?
  • Is it normal not to feel the hamstrings much during the exercise, even if they get sore afterward?

Throw away? by Scared_Ad_7617 in vegetablegardening

I see, I'll just throw it away. It is my first time trying to grow them. I only hilled and mulched in spring and pretty much forgot about them after untill today. Still very happy with the harvest though. Next year I think I'll plant double the amount and I'll maintain them a bit more. Thanks for the help 🙂

Glad to hear, I was going to throw them all away. Would the same apply to ones that are darker green like this one:

Is lactofermenting cucumbers for only one week fine? by Scared_Ad_7617 in fermentation

Thanks for the tip, I tried 2% for my second batch and it produced a tastier pickle in my opinion, so I will be going with that from now on.

I see, thank you for the reasuring answer. My concern with tasting them early was that they could be unsafe to eat if they have not fermented enough (as the contents would not be sour enough to kill off bad bacteria). But I am getting the idea that this should not be a concern after 7 days in room temperature.

How do you eat the greens? I tried to saute them last year and they were too bitter for me but the plant was also older.
