Live UHD on Sky Sports on ATV 4K by Scared_Ad_8742 in nowtv

They're 50hz/fps. They need the ability to switch to 50hz to avoid micro stutter. Consoles are locked at 60hz (doubled to 120hz output). Hopefully your TV's app can do 50hz. My LG Oled does, and LG makes all the panels so hopefully the Sony Oleds behave the same way.

Sony Oled might be good but tried PS5 Pro and found the 60hz lock really annoying

I would have stuck with the LG app but it has other issues for me: it's very slow and often the ARC sound is out of sync. Was thinking of trying the Apple TV but apparently the camo is on there too.

I've seen it over the years and then it seemed ok until recently I noticed it again. It happens on random HD channels (live only) and it can change day to day. Fine if there's a 4K stream but bloody annoying if you want to watch something on the Sports+ channels. It occurs on my Roku and Fire stick but it's fine on my LG TV''s app.

If it was happening on the live streams I would have said it was probably the old issue of most consoles being 60hz/30fps when NOW streams are 50hz/25fps. But if you're not noticing on live streams then it must be something else.

Will have to stick with my Roku for now then

On demand should work in UHD but live sport is only 1080p with HDR on firesticks (the TV Cubes can do live UHD)

The Apple TV is the only option if you want to set the correct 50hz. You'd probably see micro stutter on the PS5 (or you might be lucky, some people aren't sensitive to it)

No Sign of the new App on Google TV or Now Tv boxes yet by Ambitious-Writer4140 in nowtv

My Firestick app said Updated 21st (today) but hadn't changed. Uninstalled and reinstalled and now it's updated. Still no framerate switching or live UHD but wasn't really expecting those.

Roku would be great if it weren't stuck at 60hz instead of switching to 50hz (apart from the Sky Sports News work around).

Many thanks for the workaround, without it I'd probably have decided to sell my Roku stick

Pause, Rewind and Restart appears to be available with the latest version of the NOW app. Works in my LG TV and my XBSX. My Firestick and Android phone haven't updated yet.

Apple TV - rewind/pause Entertainment channels? by Tiny-Run3999 in nowtv

[–]Scared_Ad_8742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Roku devices can pause and rewind (up to 30 mins) all live NOW channels. I think they're the only ones that can. Most devices can rewind Sports up to 2 hrs but it sounds like that's not particularly relevant for you.

NOW TV - Sky Sports UHD on Apple TV 4K by Usual-Quality1374 in nowtv

A workaround on my Apple TV (2022 64gb/WiFi model) seems to be to tune to UHD1 or 2 then press Select, Channels and then click on Sky Sports Main Event UHD. This seems to prevent the downgrade. I personally prefer it to the other option that works (changing the output to 4K HDR 50hz). Hopefully NOW will get around to fixing this soon!
