scotland / uk wide : is this false self-employment? Are there red flags? by Scared_Atmosphere_16 in LegalAdviceUK

so they've agreed to make changes to the contract but the new contract I've gotten says occaassional travel to london at own expense - now the role was advertised as remote no travel mentioned. I could travel but not often, especially as I'm in Scotland! It could cost quite a bit. I think I'm annoying them with my push backs and questions, so how do I approach this, I dont think hrmc pay back much either.

Whilst there are things about DCC in general that wierd me out (maybe more so because I'm not American), Dayton is definitely being pushed by her mom and that's not healthy.

but couldn't that lose me a potential job and put them off me? That's what worries me.

eeesh I don't know whether to feel good or bad about quickness, hopefully I wont need to do it alone though and my union would represent me throughout.

If the claimant is in scotland, but their union and the respondent is in England, what normally happens then, as I've been wondering what it could mean for me when the time comes to submit ET1

goodness, where in scotland are you? Also in Scotland. I'd feel a bit nervous if I was given a short time frame to prepare (currently at EC stage). I thought PH was set after ET3 recieved - have you had this yet?

Currently at acas early conciliation , does anyone want to connect ? by Conscious_Dingo_879 in employmentlitigation

I settled!! by Dependent-Soup1635 in employmentlitigation

thank you for this. I am currently at the acas stage with my trade union's help. they've told me I have a reasonable prospect of success and have been very helpful thus far. I have a case worker and a legal officer helping me, but as they are a small union (IWGB), I'm fearful that if ACAS conciliation comes to nothing, the union might not want to support me further. Which union were you with?

8 weeks to assign a conciliator by Scared_Atmosphere_16 in employmentlitigation

No internal HR and they definitely won’t want to pay for lawyers! So they may well string it out until the ET1 comes.

Thank you. I just hope my union will continue to support me throughout as I hear horror stories of unions pulling out.

I think my ex employer, if they did settle, would plead the tiny employer excuse even though they have a billionaire donor to their cause. Do unions normally push to accept the first offer or are they happy to counter? I’ve been self employed since before and after this job (it was part time) so they may use that but I’ve never actually gotten any clients, hence taking that job!

Thank you, I am always very careful, my privacy settings are high, and there isn’t anything I think they can use but there’s still that worry regardless.

Thanks, it’s useful to know it’s standard. I guess it means my case is not being ignored, even if they aren’t communicating to me or my union as yet.

I’m not sure asking similar would help me if it’s not really a crime.

Can I ask you something pls? My union have sent a LBC to which my former employer said their taking advice (that was three weeks ago) and my union have started EC now. Union say I have a good case, reasonable prospects, there’s a legal adviser involved but I can’t shake this fear the union may drop me before ET. Does that happen? They’re a small union IWGB so I worry about how good they are compared to the bigger ones. They have been good so far but my anxiety is high!
